there are many ways to describe it and the media randomly decided (without discussing it apparently) to come out and use a term specifically linked to Obama after he literally used the term "red line". why did every media outlet in unison choose this specific way to describe a meme with a ton of descriptions? call it a line in the sand or some shite and nobody would give half a shite

I agree.
It was obvious that what trump said was an if/then statement. Media using the term "red line" is attempting to lessen Obama's failure to follow through with his rhetoric on Syria by tying it to trumps failure, thus far, to follow through on his words to DPRK.

Salmon can roll his eyes and call it "semantics", but when you attempt to loosen the definition of a serious military engagement action, you go down a very slippery slope. Foriegn powers are monitoring our news.

It's reckless and all being done out of pure partisan hackery.

eh

you're going too far. the media can't really change shite by giving it a label. foreign powers know what Trump actually said

Foreign powers HAVE to love the direction Progs are trying to take our country. Progs are doing their handy work for them.

I've criticized the media on this situation. I just think the "red line" thing is the least of the things to care about. It's pettiness. It's a petty "gotcha" by the media, and it's a petty semantics game from the defenders.

I'm way more concerned about the media teasing and criticizing Trump for doing what they, presumably, want him to do.

i agree this is the actual worry

i don't think Trump is that insecure, however

Trump says shite publicly to get a rise out of his enemies and that's red meat for his base. i don't think he actually wants cops to rough up criminal defendants nor do i think he's taking this NK situation so lightly he'd launch a nuke for no real reason

Im not seeing too much hyperbole in calling it slippery, but to each, his own. I'm not sure how much experience you have with asian culture, but media, to them, is the voice of governemnts. Don't underestimate how they see that, especially a deranged child like Un.

Not really

I am no fan of the NFL. I actually hate their product. I hate it because player who do well one year force a renegotiation of their contracts while the business owner is not allowed to renegotiate the players contract the very next year if the player plays shitty.

All sports leagues are complete aberrations to normal/real businesses.

Because of their unique relationships the owners of said businesses constantly collude with each other for mutual benefit.

I actually side with the owners versus the employees but because of the nature of their business model every side in every position and every argument can be wrong and right at the exact same time.

Sports leagues need/require other entities in the exact same business model to exist. Without these other entities the entire entertainment/business model collapses for all parties involved. They are truly unique when compared to other industries.
