First off, I have some left leaning friends. I have asked them their opinions of trump every few months to gauge their perspective. For most of Trump’s presidency, the economic success that we have witnessed has been contributed to Obama by these people.
Then, however, the economy began to show signs of slowing back in December and my friends said that the policies of Trump were finally taking hold, and that we would soon be in a recession because of it.
Fast forward to April, and we have reached 3.2% gdp. Once again, they say it is due to Obama. Which is funny considering that Obama himself said that trump calling for 3% gdp was unrealistic and irresponsible.
Has anyone else experienced this, and if so is there anything that can be done to help these people understand their flawed logic?

You are dealing with a Fundamental Orthodoxy. Orange Man Bad. The end. To attempt to penetrate that with appeals to facts and logic is like telling a Scientologist he’s been snookered. It just doesn’t work.

Haha, well they are good people. Flawed logically, but good people. My conservative friends outnumber the liberal ones 10:1.

I don't think it's flawed, I just don't think you can prove it one way or another at this point in history. I wouldn't beat myself up over this either.

Most far left libs/dems/progs/sol, look at politics like college football rivals. It’s not about what’s best for the country. It’s about my side is right even if they know it’s wrong.

It’s like their obligated to mental illness.

I know that the economy is at a better condition than it has been in 40+ years. And this is in spite of the halting of the “free money” policy under Obama being halted.
Oh, and that the entirety of the left suggested that we all get out of the stock market ASAP when trump was elected, and that soon people would be dying... lol

But it is flawed, they are attributing success and failure according to political affiliation alone. The success that we are currently seeing is in no way due to Obama. Yet we will still hear that he is a success. He isn’t, the only success that he has had is the convincing of so many idiots that he should be elected based on a stupid phrase: “hope and change”

Honestly I believe they are different on a physical level. Something has got to be different in their minds.

Sadly, I think you’re correct. There is no helping them. They are permanently flawed.

So then it's clear that regardless of what numbers your plug in wherever, the conclusion is always the same. Thus it isnt about numbers and healthy this or that. Rather it's a psychological phenomenon. They see Trump as a raging firestorm of confidence pushing them down every moment. Then they see us laughing at them from around the corner. They highly afraid and jealous of this roving self-confident gang led by a nemesis they cant defeat.

Part of them is terrified of guaranteed further embarrassment, the other part...jealous they dont have the capability to be on a self-confident winning team.
