Sounds an awful lot like the mullahs having to pre-approve candidates in Iran.

You don’t even need a date on your ballot to vote in PA since this afternoon.

Is this their idea of free and fair elections? No rules whatsoever?

What's the backstory? Is he a felon or what did he do to merit being removed...not pay his GOPe dues?

I would be okay with this if the parties paid for their primaries.

Wow just read the link - this seems awful. No way this dude can be considered "not a Republican" - he's got more skins on the wall than anyone I've seen

Weird story in its lack of detail. Yes, it is okay for a party to determine bona fides of its representatives. Otherwise Dems would fund birddogs like David Duke. But this seems a case of the candidate not meeting residency requirements?

He did not fulfill a bylaw requirement mandating that candidates vote in three of the past four Republican primaries to be eligible to run.

This defeats democracy, as well as a republic. This akin to a Monarchy, by group.

I do. It’s the reason Charlemagne was coronated. Welcome to medieval times.

This tweet is disingenuous at best.

The law is to ensure that folks who run for a particular office are actual residents of that area and not just moving into a district so they can be elected.

I’m sure it can possibly be abused, but TN wants representation from actual residents…not carpetbaggers.

This is a good reminder that the parties are private entities that run public institutions.

Birddogging is the insertion of a false player into a political equation to disadvantage a supposed ally or allied group/party.

Due to left-wing narrative-focused "news" coverage, the right is more vulnerable to birddogging. E.g., David Duke inserted into one GOP primary would be used to intimate racism against all GOP candidates. If Bill Ayers got inserted on a democrat ballot somewhere, you'd never see equation targeting Dems as terrorists in general.
