There is one constant in modern GOP politics, you turn against Trump and you will likely lose.

Is Trump flawless? Not remotely if you look at Iran. However, one should probably side with the President that the constituents voted for. Unless your constituents say otherwise

I don't think it was so much that as it was Trump cutting of her supply of cheap illegal labor. That affected her bottom line, and could not be tolerated.

That's a meaningless stat.
By the time something comes to a vote, the outcome is already decided.
The real fight is at the committee level and deciding what is voted on at all.
Cornyn delays and blocks nominations and other bills that conservatives support.
