not the same thing at all, this was intentionally leaking sensitive information in the hopes of embarrassing the president and generating a news story, and it worked. it was something the white house had to deal with for two days.

Ever since the Obama administration when everyone in his cabinet had communication on their non govt servers and devices. They opened the door for accepting people who would overlook security for good of off book activity, and once those people are in the hierarchy it infects everyone and everything below them.

The traitors should be convicted for felonies and receive jail time for divulging classified information. It was days later when when the classified information became news. It does not matter, it was still classified. Classified information is classified until ti is de-classified and can only be de-classified by the originator of the information or the President. President Trump may have been safe but sources and decisions were divulged. Future Presidents may not be so lucky. Presidents do no have the situational awareness to know the risk of their safety, that's why they rely on those that protect them. That is why these people should never trusted again, ever.
The leakers have lost their clearances and should never regain them. Their careers are over. They will never be able to vote or posses a firearm. Their options for future employment is very limited. Maybe they can learn to code. (sarcasm)

No one has ever been killed by embarrassment but knives are awfully deadly. SS is tasked with protecting the president. Not letting an armed attacker in the presidents house is a bigger issue than alleged press leaks.

Look, it’s not an ideal situation and the guys were disciplined for it. Mostly just because they got caught and it hit the news.
It’s not comparable to SS personal leaking tactics, techniques and procedures to the press.
