If they can show illegal coordination with the Feds, they can win?

How much you reckon it costs to "run" one of these groups?
The online chat group? Probably nothing, but, again, it's not alleged.
I'm not saying it's impossible, only that the government hasn't come close to alleging any such thing in the formal pleadings.

Do you think they might save some evidence for discovery and trial? Is there leverage to be gained in plea deal talks?

I imagine the claims of illegality are an opinion, considering the source.
But showing a history, some of which I suppose is public, that they have engaged in these operations for 25+ years by the point of the alleged criminality, makes an allegation of fraud much more difficult.

Just that hundreds of thousands of dollars, and even up to a million dollars, was flowing to officers and leaders of such organizations.

did not have the OKC bombing on my SPLC bingo card
Next we will learn that the SPLC had "undercover informants" paying for the 9-11 highjackers flight lessons.

What is the false narrative?
The size and extent of the racist organizations for one thing, if not complete fabrication of specific operations.

In the context of bigger than most realize, showing corrupt and rogue acts by the government through the SPLC would be a spicy meatball.

Are you really going to die on the hill of saying, unless they were issuing checks directly to "Unite the Right" or "National Alliance" it's somehow fantastical to speculate that it seems like they were basically funding these organizations?
Posted on 4/22/26 at 2:37 pm to SlowFlowPro
Hmmm. That's odd. How exactly do you "defraud donors" and "lie to banks" by using their money for completely legitimate investigative work?

So when I pay the checker at Wal Mart I’m paying the individual? Not Wal mart?

Possibly but that could also expose the existence of a lot more of these groups than certain groups would like to admit, also.
I will say that it's interesting the "entrapment" stuff is relatively rare for these groups. I'd have to go look but the only example I can think of is the Whitmer kidnapping scheme. I don't know if that speaks to the level of secrecy/exclusion, low population, or infiltration (which this would overlap with).

I think we'd need some accounting evidence

Yeah they paid the money to an individual. No allegations of that money flowing to a group, or that he was involved in anything other than an "online chat group".
Inflation be hitting.
Hundreds of thousands to be a mod? Wild.

Well the bank stuff is, again, stronger and subject to specific laws.
As for the fraud, is this fraud if the donors know of/approve the actions? The allegations of fraud are that they took the donations and misled the donors.

Bad analogy
If you paid a Walmart employee to steal shite for you from Walmart, I doubt that money would be accounted in Walmart's revenues
