Why the hell does Bloomberg care about this? Aren't they one of the main news organizations who have been telling us this treatment doesn't work anyway?

Perfect time for Trump/Gop...and all actually, to push legislation to bring back manufacturing of all products to the US. Start playing the long game (50 years and longer), not for the next election.

His phrasing is dumb.

IMO it’s actually the one duty of a capitalist government to keep the economy running and protecting trade interests I.E. the need for a strong army and navy. Therefore it is the duty of a country to have emergent supplies I.E. PPE and manufacturing ready to ramp up production in times of crisis.

One of the few good things that will come out of this is that politicians on the wedges (not corporate hacks) are going to have really tough China stances

Do you not agree that much panic would be eliminated if we had readily available PPE? Readily available manufacturing to ramp up critical drug supply? We are having to intercept and bribe off jets intended for elsewhere to get PPE.

you propose what- to institute a national policy of reserving some production capacity, but not using it? that seems like more of a simple industrial policy than a trade one, but whatever. if you're willing to make that investment on our behalf out of your own resources, i applaud you!

Ideally that would be great but then there is capitalism and companies will do anything to make more profit ,therefore china will keep producing things because of the cheap labor and materials

Capitalism is awesome on the upside But the downside can be deadly. Common sense says we need protection from the deadly side.
