You are correct with the Von Braun analogy - back in the day I had my own reservations about his loyalty, but he turned out to be just what we needed and was instrumental in our success. I had the good fortune to meet him at the Cape for one of the latter launches. He seemed like nothing more than a patriotic American and certainly lent his expertise to cure our launch problems.

Having large swaths of Americans unable to support themselves because rapid changes to the economic landscape that benefit foreigners over citizens isn’t that different than sending large quantities of tax dollars overseas while this country is suffering.

I agree with all that you are saying except Von Braun was "enticed" to come to America.
At the close of WW2 in Europe, when Russia was consumed with taking Berlin and losing thousands of men in the process, Eisenhower said screw that.
However, those V2 rockets moving faster than sound, THOSE could be preeety sweet tech, go find the person who invented them and make him an offer he cant refuse: Nuremberg trials.....or the Redstone Arsenal.
I grew up in Huntsville and Von Braun was a hero. But he is also responsible for the deaths of thousands of innocent British civilians. Not to mention the 1000s who died manufacturing these weapons in slave/concentration camps. They were used solely as a terrorist weapon. Hamas would be envious of this guy.
In the end he redeemed himself and hopefully judged as such. Immigration is a good thing when done correctly.
