And this is why we don't manufacture in the US. How has that worked out?

I may be wrong in my assessment,
You are precisely right in your logic - I had not come around to a satisfactory explanation for this new input wrt Vivek and Elon - but your assessment satisfies my curiosity for the moment.
You are correct with the Von Braun analogy - back in the day I had my own reservations about his loyalty, but he turned out to be just what we needed and was instrumental in our success. I had the good fortune to meet him at the Cape for one of the latter launches. He seemed like nothing more than a patriotic American and certainly lent his expertise to cure our launch problems.
again - great assessment

I've never put much faith in either but I'm going to wait and see. You should try that.

I have seen how the replacement of American IT workers with foreign born works out. They are generally programming jockeys with little creative thinking. They are cheaper and that is all the CEOs see.
But what always happens is they cant solve the more complex problems so the company has to pay thru the nose for an expensive consultant to come in and fix the problem.
So, you're telling me that Elon wants to hire a bunch of low-wage techies to come over and work for him, but he knows they won't be able to think outside the box when a problem arises so he's gonna bring someone else in to correct the problems the people he hired can't solve?
That makes absolutely no sense at all. There are some logic-defying leaps that you have made with your assessment there.
Now, I have no doubt that you are correct in your insistence that many American IT workers have been replaced with low-wage immigrants (and even outsourced to overseas remote stations) in an unscrupulous effort to lower payroll expenditures, and I agree whole-heartedly with you that this is a questionable and unethical practice at best. But I truly don't believe the HB1 employees Elon is looking for fall into that category.
Again, I am not omniscient so I could be incorrect. But then again, I may be on target. It'll all come out in the wash.

Between AI and cheap labor being imported or outsourced, it’s looking rough for a lot of Americans in the short term.
Neither can climb aboard an LHD and weld two pipes together.

You faggs never said one word about H1B the last 9 years.
Now every one of you is an expert who has worked in IT for 50 years.
Face it, you are nothing more than a bitch who was mind fricked by bots and retards.

If it's let the best developers win, cool. If it's let's let a ton of low cost developers utilize AI to expand their mediocre reach and have a race to the bottom, cool I guess. But let's not disguise it as a meritocracy.
I am with you 100% in this line of thought.

A ton of jobs were shipped overseas and the American workforce moved to white collar jobs that are now at risk of being replaced.
Which gets you to the actual point, if you can replaced by cheap labor (human or machine), you better find out in a hurry and make yourself irreplaceable, because inevitably the law of markets works against you.
Not trying to say what should be the case, saying what is the reality.

Is this the thread where we pretend Americans aren’t lazy as frick and that Elon is right so we can bash him for some reason?

Most Americans are lazy as frick, at the same time America has the best work force in history, which is why Elon and Vivek are in America.
Both can be true.

If you can be replaced by cheap labor, why should you not be replaced by cheap labor?
If too many Americans are out of work, they won’t be benefiting from the marginally cheaper prices of goods and services offered by that cheaper labor. If too many can’t find jobs, they will be on welfare.
As with most things, there needs to be balance.

Efficient labor benefits a capitalist society. I'd love the argument against that.

Y'all apparently don't realize that Elon and Vivek aren't looking for low wage entry level employees.
So I can assume Elon and Tesla will be withdrawing their applications and replacing their thousands of H1B employees who are making less than 100k a year, right?
