One thing about the republicans overall in these things. The don't try to trash a nominee to SCOTUS by a Democrat. The RBG hearings were overall uneventful as were the Breyer, Sotomayor and Kagan hearings. Some protest bu some members but overall it sailed through . The Democrats seek to destroy people in these things and others around them....families etc. I remember the Alito hearings and they had his old mother in tears. It took Robert Byrd (he of KKK fame) to stop the Democrats in that situation because he thought it was too much.
