Thats not necessarily true. The Pilgrims did yeah but they were about the only ones to run for persecution (that I know of, there may be more).
I'd say most people (and countries) came here looking for new fortunes. Once the British said they were going to tax the living frick out of everyone, people fought back. Can you imagine the people in the 13 colonies just picking up everything and moving....again?

Sadly I don't see this happening. When a people allow its history, culture and symbols to be destroyed and do nothing we are truly in a sad state of affairs. Right now it's just some low-level rioting, looting, statue damage, and some arson. As it stands, it's still minor enough that the police (maybe with the help of the National Guard) can keep it relatively under control when the leaders in those locales have the political will to quell the nonsense. In fact, if not for cable news, most of us wouldn't know that it was happening if we didn't live in Minneapolis, Seattle, or Atlanta. Once BLM/Antifa bring it to our doorsteps and escalate the violence with the police unable or unwilling to protect them, Americans are going to go weapons-free and it's going to be Biblical. Cops, former cops, military personnel, combat veterans, hunters, and competitive and recreational shooters are largely conservative. Once the left kicks that hornet's nest hard enough, they're proper fricked.
