I'm pretty sure there is a good mix. I know plenty of liberal leaning people that listen to JRE, including myself

As a long time Rogan fan this is very disappointing. JRE has always the place where anything goes no matter how wacky or insane the conspiracy theory.

His most popular episodes are with Eddie and Alex Jones so the fanbase loves this shite.

To be so blatant about the edit and subject change shows that Joe has been compromised in some way.

Joe must address this quickly or the fanbase will turn on him.

Joe Rogan quietly going out like a bitch is disheartening and disappointing. I unsubscribed and will no longer support his show. I hope everyone else does the same. He needs to address this head on. And from all the looks of it he is just going to hope it blows over.

Big Tech is going to strangle the open internet to death in cooperation with the government. And we're all going to sit back and watch it happen.

He was just challenging Twitter a few weeks ago.

That was probably the final straw.

Yep. FANG is strangling the open internet and we are all standing around watching it happen.

Sad times.

Joe just needs to stream off his own website, people will go there his followers don't give two shits about youtube or where his content comes from.

Sucks you typed up all of that.

He is creating an app to make money.
It'll feature the live show, without ads.

I know about the "app" negotiation.

The point is he doesn't have an app yet. That discussion was from Feb. You could argue he's trying to make the transition but then why not talk about it?

If it was the app, and he has already discussed he's trying (all he said the app would do is give you the show, with no ads, and live if he could pull it off), then there's no reason to clearly avoid discussing it, and on top of that, completely ignoring anyone who asks about what's going on.

In fact, if it's coming he should and would be out in the open promoting it shamelessly (see Howard Stern's move to Sirius)

Silence sometimes speaks volumes.

The fact that Joe isn't live, and it's a new JOE ROGAN policy, tells me all I need to know

I will eat crow if/when it's due

As usual, it's about the $$$. They were losing out on too much ad revenue from the live streams. This way, they can edit out anything that they think might get them pulled from advertising.

This is a good prediction as well and likely true.

Which makes my point of RIP JRE

like I said earlier, this is only about advertising on youtube. the actual podcast shouldn't be affected, but I may be wrong I haven't tried to listen to that one yet.

Someone on his Reddit said he addressed it on his Brendon Schaub episode. I haven't listened to it yet, so IDK.
Something along the lines that YouTube keeps taking his ad revenue and flagging him for clips, etc.

So if YouTube issued him a warning, he is only doing what is necessary until his own personal app is developed. It's better that he has an avenue to continue putting out his podcast for now, than getting banned altogether.

I do agree it being live is a great and important aspect of the show. I don't know if that ended because of any conspiracy reasons though. He's a smart dude, he'll figure it out.

He's a low information no talent.

It's informative and interesting for kids under the age of 35.

"legalize weed", "we don't need so many guns", "I hate Carlos Mencia", "when I was doing stand-up"...

That's his entire show in a nutshell.

...but I like when he tries to act semi high.

Joe has done things the right way. It is hard to fight big tech. He may just let them win this battle while he is preparing to win the war and move away from Youtube with his app or whatever.

Have you confirmed if the edit is there in the podcast?

It's edited there as well, and it's even more jarring listening to it, which to me goes against everything he did in the past.

So let's get that straight, even on his actual feed on HIS website, he is no longer doing a live format podcast.

Even if he's moving to his own platform (which btw is 100% speculation, he talked about it briefly back in Feb and nothing else has been discussed about it) , he should keep the live nature of the show and post that on the net.

This is the first time in JRE history he is editing content and not doing a live show. He doesn't have to be live on youtube streaming to record a live show and post it. The streaming live forced him to do that so he had no opportunity to edit out content though. This is the alarming part. I know it sounds juvenile but "piss breaks" were always in real time as to not disrupt the flow of the show, the discussion and content. With Eddie, you can tell when they "cut back from break" that they are in a totally different conversation. Either they purposely totally changed gears (in the amount of time it takes to piss ~under a minute), or any discussion they returned to was pulled out in edit. It's a fundamentally different format than the previous 1298 or so podcasts he's done.

Either way you look at it, something's up.

He is actually a really different interviewer in these modern times. He actually lets the other person talk and rarely takes over with his own opinions etc. He has a way of almost being the listener. He is well prepared for his interviews but he doesn't act like it. He acts like it is the first time he is hearing the information so as a listener you feel like he is asking good questions and having a conversation instead of just pounding their own opinion.

Joe gets a lot of hate but he has a refreshing way of interviewing people in this modern know it all age.

The only logical explanation is that he saw too much risk in live-streaming and getting banned by youtube that he made the decision to stop doing that until he could form his own streaming service without the risk. If that's the reason, I can understand.

Yeah, don't know why he wouldn't just explain it to everyone.
