re: These melts are hilarious but the fact remains: LA has no future

What is MS doing to improve its economy that LA could do?
Posted on 11/17/19 at 8:22 am to Hogs78
There's no voter fraud. It's Louisiana and as I said for years, the incumbent will win as long as the nation is doing well and there are no booming crises in LA. Too many people here don't care about the smoldering problems.

You do realize the Democrats main goal is to crash the economy? Thats why wherever their voted in its not very long before that place starts looking like a 3rd world country. This was very well planned out now if they can get our guns.

the place that has truly declined and will not recover is the oil&gas sector. everything else is having to offset it.
did you not read my OP?

oil, especially offshore, is dying.

Do you think that LA could invest in renewable energy as oil declines to eventually have that as an economic driver to stay afloat?
we don't have the money nor workforce to do that
plus, Texas is already way ahead of us. why would any company invest here and not there?

yeah i read your overly-gloomy op
that is why i am rightly pointing out that we are adjusting as oil production continues to die and everything is plodding along. that tells you that outside of that sector everything else is doing okay

People need to understand. All these frustrated voters are not “melting”. Some people cared & La is dying if not already dead.
Those laughing at the “melt” refuse to see what’s going on. There’s been a mass exodus of business out of this state. Producers are leaving La in record numbers. Our business outlook for the future looks more promising elsewhere. It’s a shame but it was the La citizen’s choice. Now live with it.
Plain & simple, this Governor is a business killer. But hey, enjoy your laugher. LOL!

ignore politics or parties for a second. look at the state. we are a poor state without good job opportunities for educated people and it's expensive to live in good parts of the state (especially those around what few upper middle class jobs exist). our demographic tipping point hit a few years ago (and no, this isn't a race thing or coded language. anyone who has lived in LA for any period of time knows we have no shortage of trashy white people relying on government entitlements)
oil, especially offshore, is dying. LC has propped up the economic numbers of this state the past 4-5 years but that's going to slow down in the coming years. we have nothing else other than government (which is no way to grow a state)
The problem is that we have the govt that we deserve. Just drive down the miserable highways and look at the enormous amounts of trash on the road. We wont get educated, we wont be responsible, we wont be healthy, we wont abide by laws, we are just screwed. Big time oil prices may bail us out one more time if we can get us a big war going.

our "healthcare industry" is basically a siphon of government handouts. where do you think all that Medicaid expansion money went? Circle K?

the problem in your argument is the assumption that Rispone could do/fix anything

the problem with the choice yesterday was that you can't name a legitimate policy that Rispone offered to change anything. he just said he was a Trump supporter, not JBE, and then referenced vague, lower-level topics like "tort reform"
but it doesn't really matter because even if Rispone pulled a great term out of his arse, LA is still gone

Yep, the brain drain will continue. The legal climate will continue to deteriorate and no corporation will put capital to work in this state unless they absolutely have to (ie Haynesville Shale).

yeah it's a little more than that
it's a massive sector that consistently grows as a chunk of economies as they get richer and older
it's a massive employer
it's a massive r&d sector
quote:
"plodding along" = failing harder and faster
ok. we only widely outpaced the nation in growth in 2018, the best year since 2014, despite that massive oil&gas cratering still not recovering

Maybe he can hold trump rallies and charge a million dollars a head.
Problem solved.

i don't know i don't much about MS so i can't answer your question

1) First of all, frick you.
2) The OP isn't a Trump supporter. He's just an idiot who pretends to be much smarter than he really is.
