There is almost no opposition to merit based legal immigration where the immigrant has independent means and is not likely to become a ward of the state.

There it is. The term "legal" has now become a matter of the LEFTIST Judiciary, just like in Europe. Efforts to reject the 'Government' Courts will be interpreted as 'Insurrection' and an attack on Government.
Royce White laid it out on his Saturday show...the Left has essentially assumed totalitarian power via the Courts and immigration, setting up an inevitable process of dissolution of the Constitutional Republic (Individual God-given Rights) that guarantees Government control. The people will have two options as the economic collapse via either the necessary printing required to support tens of millions of immigrants collapses the USD with total collapse ensuing, or, MAGA assuming control and deporting masses of immigrants and shutting down the "Omnibus' printing which launders money in service to Leftist causes all over the Globe.
The people - Left and Right - will then have to choose whether the Federal 'Government'/Courts/FBI/CIA et al (via printed money) then remains the bottom-line authority, or such is rejected, and power goes back to the States and Local communities. The Left believes that the Right will choose Federal Government over collapse and the bloody anarchy that is the only other option.
The desired intent of the Left is to destroy the Constitutional Principle Republic/USA in service to the Globalist DEI ideology, and either way, they win. They watched that Video that this Forum did ("Why the Right will win the coming Civil War") and aptly addressed it with massive immigration, of military aged males, many who are sociopathic warriors being born into nightmarish cultures.
The election of Trump will not solve the problem, it will only take the fight to the next level. The Marxist know that it always ends up "at the barrel of a gun".

People here in the islands say it used to be cut and dry to even get a green card. You had to have a sponsor to live with (not this bogus NGO address), a job awaiting you, and a bank account with money in it.
If you had a child and were deported, the child had to come with you and could reenter the US at 18 years of age.
The current system is bypassed by using one of 1.5 million NGOs to filter money through using the "build back better" for legal services, transport, financial support for them and the "enabling" NGOs.
