So, the 2007-2008 crash was nothing at all?
That is an interesting take.
That is an interesting take.

When Bush enacted the Patriot Act most republicans were for it and democrats against it (due to freedom). When Obama got in office all of a sudden republicans were for freedom and democrats were for more gov't intrusion. If Obama would have been in office and did the exact same thing Trump just did most democrats would have been for it and most republicans against it. It'a all pathetic.
CNBC did a poll recently and something like 53% of Republicans were concerned about COVID19 and 97% of democrats were. Only in 2020 America can something as straightforward as a virus still have a distinct political divide. It's insane.

You think the causes of the 07-08 crash and what we’re going through now, economically speaking, are similar?
That is a most interesting take.

The cause impacts perception, but both bills were desperately needed to spare deep depressions.

Not many people watch the news anymore - with good reason. More people are getting their news from the internet. And internet "news" is even worse.
But yeah, our political system is broken. When the nominees are Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump it's time to scrap the system and start again.

All I’m saying is when conservatives vote to give tax payers their money back during times when the economy at large is forcibly shutdown due to a pandemic does not mean they sacrificed their integrity to do so. And to presume the differences between the causes of each recession are indisputable is an egregious act of ignorance.

quote:Remember when the right shite their pants at Obama using executive orders to make changes, then they pissed their pants in joy when Trump used them to do the same thing? They claimed Obama was spending us into oblivion, then when the right got control of Congress & the White House, they cut taxes but not spending and the debt goes through the roof, but no one on the right is bitching about the debt/deficit at the moment.

Tax and Spend Dems vs. Borrow and Spend Repubs. They're both full of shite and anyone who thinks one is absolutely better than the other is full of shite too.

Republicans and Democrats will always play these childlike games with one another. And both parties will do whatever they can to divide the citizens. They will divide the country by race, financial wealth, sexual orientations and life/pro choice. Nothing will change.
Jesus said that we will always have the poor amongst us. That implies some folks will be rich and some will be poor.
There will be folks who live to kill others. Their will be jealousy amongst people.
Nothing will change until Jesus returns.

We’re beyond help, yes. The media has a become polarized money-hungry machine and social media has trained us to be vitriolic and disrespectful because it’s so easy to do so behind a keyword.

Turn it off. Turn on Netflix. Search for movies made elseway (in different countries). There’s some great stuff and you don’t have to watch movies which emphasize political correctness.

Political tribalism has fricked American politics. Can't even have a discussion about Trump without people saying he's God Emperor or literally Hitler

What we're seeing in the Democratic party is an all out civil war. It's the establishment moderate Democrats vs the progressive antiestablishment Democrats.
We're going to see a lot more Tulsis, Bernies, and Yangs in the near future. The Democratic Party has a choice and it's adapt or die
The GOP saw this and while there's some infighting they mostly just got behind Trump because they at least knew there was no point in fighting it

I blame social media and the bubble you can live in whether on the right or left.

That's great and all but now it's Trump's party. The GOP has abandoned any principles it may have had and now stands for whatever Trump happens to be standing for at any given moment. The problem is that he's going to be around for 4.5 more years at most. When he's gone they're going to have to figure out what, if anything, they stand for again. Principles, once abandoned, aren't necessarily easy to get back.

Agree with what you're saying. Will take it one step further and again, it is true of people on both sides of this madhouse. We're not just knowing every little bad thing that happens, but both sides are making shite up at this point and are just no believable anymore. Or, they take all of their negative qualities and attribute them to the other side.
Really is tiresome.

There's really very little on a national or international scale that affects you so much that you have to know about in real time.

You would also have to refrain from the internet and all social media.
