Wouldn't efforts to limit CO2 based on acidification rates resemble policies to thwart "climate change"? Just on a smaller scale?

I think CptBengal is probably trying to control the world with an oppressive carbon tax.

It wasn't your heater but I knew it had something to do with heat and cold in winter. LINK

You have a PhD in physics and you don't know how to keep your water pipes from freezing!

Couldn't we just throw a little NaOH in the oceans to solve the problem?

One of the easiest ways would be top add more calcium chloride, or increasing vertical movement of water from below to above the carbonate compensation depth in the deeper areas

you're on a south eastern based message board. It's shoved into the majority not to believe in climate change. Doesn't matter what you say, just laughs and down votes. Pretty soon there will be more and more threads saying "well lets just assume it is true", then comes "there's nothing we can do now anyways". No one will take the blame.

What is the Left's/Believers' answer? Bring in as many immigrants as possible? Increase our population so we need more roads, buildings and parking lots and cars? Give incentives for people to have more children, give them tax credits, schooling and healthcare and food stamps?

How much calcium chloride are you talking about? How do yo deliver it? How do we increase the vertical movement of water in the oceans?

Wait! You have a PhD in physics and you had to start a thread on the O-T Board asking how to light your gas heater?!

another perfect example of how academia doesn't always transfer over to the real world.

Dump it overboard from frac/stim boats?

instead of throwing money down the crapper for a jet fuel that costs $15 a gallon. LINK We could use some of that money for research grants (using the new LSU waters campus) into water kind of phytoplankton reduces Co2 concentration in oceans with the least negative side effects (i.e. algae blooms, red tide).

Not saying we should stop alternative fuels research just not spend $15 instead of $4 for a gallon of jet fuel.

We're talking ocean acidification...what is one boat dumping some CaCl2 actually going to do? Is it something that you can target a few mile region with X tons of CaCl2?

And how do we get the ocean to move vertically?

Lighten up. It was (mostly) a joke. The irony being using frac'ing to fight AGW.

well if libs were really concerned with fighting Co2 they would be all for fracking and natural gas cars. Since natural gas is cleaner than gas or diesel, but then Al Gore and others wouldn't make as much $$$ off of carbon offsets.

Missed it...I didn't know wtf a frac/stim boat was even referring to.

They don't see it that way...methane is a GW gas and a lot of methane bleeds into the atmosphere at wells sites.
