gad hit the nail on the head. countries have been trying to address the effect, not the cause. the cause is islamic theology. ignorant americans don't know that there are debates between imams about the use of violence. they have been going on for centuries. if one side can't trump the other, how in the world is a western infidel supposed to know which is theologically more correct?

it just shows that islamic theology is convoluted enough to justify a peaceful approach AND a violent approach. that's why neither group of muslims can supersede the other.

it also shows that the war on terrorism will NEVER end. it's not a winnable war. every human would have to forget that jihad/fatwa existed so that no other person could ever take up that stance and use violence to employ it.

yep. americans aren't aware of this but the vast number of muslims are either not muslim by choice or are nominal muslims who commit shirk all the time (such as nazars according to the wahhabis). so when someone touts the number of muslims on the planet, take that number with a grain of salt.
