Is this where we traditionally say, "play stupid games, win stupid prizes"?

I know the stupid prize is that the admin is trying to send a message, as long as they same message is sent equally to everyone.

Let's see what the sentences are for the climate activist that tried to break into the capitol last month.

While I 100% believe the US government is guilty of abuse of power in the Jan. 6 "Washington Witch Trials"

Everyone who entered the capital (Who was not a Government plant) should have understood that they were going to be drawing the ire of a tyrannical government looking to make examples out of those that do not fall in line with their way of thinking. The 4 years prior to Jan. 6th showed in crystal clear terms that the liberal party would and could use every agency at it's disposal to target and attack it's "enemy's".

I think it's a tragedy but it should not be a surprise to anyone, least of all those who chose to put themselves in that very situation.

Conservatives need to wake up and realize you're playing on the liberals court, with the liberals ball and by the liberals rules.

And they don't care about what you think is right or wrong or fair or unfair.

Period.

100% agree.

There was a thread here, now deleted for obvious reasons, of LA folks organizing to head up there. I posted numerous times in that thread don't do it, it's a trap. I was downvoted to oblivion.

Here we are.

Honestly, what did people think was going to happen?

Let's suppose for a moment that the Capitol was never "breached"... pretend everyone stayed outside... the narrative was already set up for this. The plants and maybe some bad actors who were sincere still would have broken a window or a fight breaks out or something, anything that happens when you get tens of thousands of angry people together, they still would have called it an insurrection and still would be having trials and still would have this white supremecy narrative. The only difference now is that people actually strolled into the capitol, giving them exactly what they wanted. Now they don't have to defend anything, they just show a clip or two and that's the end of the argument for them. And short-sighted patriots gave that to them. When the cops are leading you in, that should be a pretty big red flag.

And no, I don't think a single non-violent offender of Jan6 should do a single day in jail. If they have you on video actually breaking something, stealing something, or assaulting someone, then lets have that discussion. Does Chewbacca guy have any video of him doing anything wrong besides looking like a psycho in a place he wasn't supposed to be? Was he armed? No. Did he steal anything? No. Did he break anything? I honestly don't know. Trespass is the strongest argument against him, and 41 months for trespass is ridiculous.

Yeah, especially when there is video of the cap police taking barricades down and inviting them in.

The trespassing charge is pushing it.

If there is footage of the Q Shaman patsy busting through any barricades; it does not make sense that others had the barricades removed and were invited in.

Is this an example of why lawyers fear federal charges because of the long mandatory sentences?

to downplay what Jan 6 was is silly. It wasn't just "trespassing".

January 6 scared the shite out our overlords. It should’ve been a reminder to them of who they’re actually supposed to be working for, and that from time to time, the boss (we, the people) might check in to see what they’re doing.

Instead, the images of them cowering under their desks and crawling around on all fours humiliated and embarrassed them. And once they recovered from that, they became angry and petulant and desired payback. Which is what they’re exacting upon these people now, because they can. And that’s Democrats AND Republicans.

Believe me, if this had been the actual insurrection they’ve made it out to be, everyone would’ve known it. Very few of them would’ve been left to whine about it.

Completely agree with you.

This guy can’t play the, “I had no idea I wasn’t allowed in there” card. I’m good with his 41 month sentence.

Wonder if he’s gonna wear his costume for the other inmates.

I have no problem if people think this group was a bunch of terrorists.

I don't think they're terrorists but I do think they were all really stupid and/or made a really stupid decision. In no universe should they or we think that rushing into a government building like that should not come with consequences. (And before anyone says something, yes the people doing the same thing elsewhere in other cities who haven't been prosecuted should have been). Having said that, the feds have certainly gone a bit overboard with some of these sentences.

Anyone pleading guilty in this cases is making a huge mistake.

Why? So they can be sentenced to larger sentences after a trial and ruin their lives even more? You think the feds prosecuting the case, the judges presiding over them, and the juries hearing them are going to produce more favorable outcomes?

1/6 suggests it would actually be shockingly easy to take the Capitol. And that’s probably why they’re hammering these protesters.

It made the Federals look like fools, and it made them look impotent.

That's all good.

Now let's apply the same to everyone... no matter who they are, no matter who they know, no matter their position or rank, no matter their politics, no matter their bank account, no matter who their daddy/mommy is, etc...

It’s also why they put up fencing and stationed what amounts to 3 divisions of troops in the area..
