He was the most prominently shown guy in most news outlets so he is to be made an example of. That ridiculous get-up he was wearing probably just cost him 2 years of freedom.

When you dress that way for an event like that, you’re not doing it for any other reason than to draw attention to yourself and make the situation about YOU

I have no issue with what happened on 1/6 but I feel like this douche got what he deserved. I don’t feel sorry for him

Did "the Board" demand multi year prison sentences for those people? I don't recall seeing that. I suppose maybe someone could find it if "IT" did.

No they are only relying on them as a weird example of hypocrisy as some sort of a justification for their team's actions. They're admitting the behavior is wrong/illegal while then, elsewhere, arguing that it wasn't so bad...but the less extreme example was actually the bad one.

Hypocrisy isn't precedent.

I may disagree with you some, but thank god you are at least honest. That puts you in a much better class than the emotional wrecks arguing for the punishment.

Good for you. I guess.

At least your point makes sense.

Imagine being such a pathetic progressive that you tell this lie.

Yikes.

Seemed the only focus of the argument here was the idea of this relatively lengthy sentence. You seem to be extrapolating quite a bit out of that.

What happened to the hunger strikers in Pelosi's office who eventually barged in when their demands weren't met? I mean besides getting an entire story on their cause after their arrest. WaPo unfortunately

I mean yes, but that's no reason to sentence him in such a draconian fashion. This is political theater. We are living out Soviet show trials.

Meanwhile the Kavanaugh hearing insurrectionists got how many years? This kind of absurd double standard is destroying all faith in the judicial system. The courts and the DNC's FBI Goon Squad have become purely partisan crooks.

He didn't do anything worth 41 months in prison.

Anyone who participated in 1/6 used poor judgment because it was a painfully obvious setup. The last thing you do is trust the establishment to be fair regardless of what you do.

The fact I think the sentence is nothing but political doesn't change the fact that people used poor judgment.

He argued in support of lengthy sentencing. His whole ruse was setting up the severity.

Of course, he plays both sides but then still argues one.

This is so disingenuous, nobody is saying he shouldn’t be punished. The issue is the harsh punishment because he went against the NWO.

This guy gets 3 years, a kid shot people at a HS in Texas and is out on bond the next day.

I'm sure the GOP will soon step up on behalf of these political prisoners.

But the sentence isn't just for the trespassing (or even the rioting outside). It's bout the interference with the session.

The Kavagirls didn't get to that level so that point isn't really even comparable.

Is this draconian? Sure. But in terms of draconian criminal laws, it's barely on the radar.

Here you are again, supporting the lengthy sentence while claiming to do otherwise.

Quote my wording in this thread supporting lengthy sentencing.

Not your interpretation. Actual words.

Not comments about his conviction and what he was convicted of. Words about the sentence.
