Three years is pretty harsh for a guy who just trespassed onto federal property.

Yeah, the treatment of a lot of these 1/6 guys is upsetting. But, this LARPer has always been off to me.

Is this where we traditionally say, "play stupid games, win stupid prizes"?

I mean yes, but that's no reason to sentence him in such a draconian fashion. This is political theater. We are living out Soviet show trials.

If only he had looted Target and set a police station on fire. Then he'd have all charges dropped and given a key to the city.

I agree but it's more than just "trespassing" for many.

I mean he pled to obstructing Congress, which is a felony. Lots of others who were at the end got much lighter misdemeanors.

He seems to have legit psychological problems.

Exactly. He was the most prominently shown guy in most news outlets so he is to be made an example of. That ridiculous get-up he was wearing probably just cost him 2 years of freedom.

This is very true. He was one of the people leading others in to obstruct things and he did stuff like this:

I have no problem if people think this group was a bunch of terrorists. Just be consistent and apply that to Kavanaugh protestors or the goons who protested outside the White House last year and hurt 50 Secret Service agents (somebody in my family claimed the police response was like Tiananmen Square ). We all know BLM protesting a Trump victory would have been cheered on as "mostly peaceful" and there would be marches for an Ashli Babbitt out of that group.

So will the left stop talking about this now that people have been overcharged? or will they stop with their racists rhetoric on the justice system that has no basis in fact?

Anyone pleading guilty in this cases is making a huge mistake.

He should have been high as a kite on fentanyl and resisted arrest.
