As a Catholic I will gladly give reason why their is only one true church.
It goes against everything Christ taught should be the building of his church. There were no popes or cardinals in the bible. Christ is the mediator/intercessor with God not a man. We are to pray to God in Christs name from our heart and not through "vain repetition" type prayers,
Matthew 6:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the hypocrites do; for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

It is not a public mosque, a permanent prayer hall open to all Muslims, or anything resembling a formal Islamic worship site. Instead, it is a modest room (described by Vatican officials as essentially "a room with a carpet") set aside specifically for visiting Muslim scholars who are conducting research in the library's collections - which include ancient Qurans and other Islamic manuscripts.
The arrangement began after Muslim academics requested a quiet space to perform their daily prayers while working on-site. The library's vice prefect, Fr. Giacomo Cardinali, confirmed this in an October 2025 interview with Italian media, stating: “Some Muslim scholars asked us for a room with a carpet to pray, [so] we gave it to them.” He framed it as part of the library being a "universal" research institution that hosts scholars from many backgrounds.
Access is limited to those scholars actively using the library for academic purposes (not tourists or the general public).
This is not inside St. Peter's Basilica, the museums, or any sacred Catholic worship space - it's within the library complex.

Jesus built his church on Peter Matthew 16:18-19. The pope is his successor. Early church had leaders. The word trinity is not in the bible either but we believe it.
Christ is the only mediator who saves us 1 Timothy 2:5. Asking Mary or saints to pray for us is like asking a friend on earth 1 Timothy 2; 1. Saints in heaven pray too.
Jesus warned against empty babbling like pagans Matthew 6:7. But right after he gave the our father to pray and he repeated the same words three times Matthew 26. The rosary uses simple bible prayers from the heart not vain repetition .

Praying for my Catholic brothers out there. I know this hurts just as much as what is happening to my own denomination.
Together we can win. Divided Satan wins.

It's right next to the part about adding Muslim prayer rooms in your holy places.

"He's from Chicago! He's one of us!"
You know who else is from Chicago (by way of Kenya)?!
As a Catholic, I'd much prefer a conservative African as pope

The library is the holy place? It’s not the house of worship. The post above mine two or three up explained it well.

"It's okay, we put it in the church but not in the chapel."
Nonsense.

Still waiting to know the real story of why and how Benedict was forced out.
He was actually trying to institute reform. The institution rebelled against it, and told him they were putting in a new Pope. Benedict chose retirement over death.

Christ is the cornerstone of the foundation of God's church not Peter.
Ephesians 2:20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief cornerstone;
Matthew 16:17 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
Matthew 16:18 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-Jona; for flesh and blood hath not revealed this unto thee, but my Father who is in heaven.
Matthew 16:19 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

It is, just you're all so divided that you get pissy with each other. How many denomanations are there? Real unity you got there. Catholic church maybe messy, but we are still together preaching God's truth. Y'all can figure out what type of music to play or if the rapture is real.

No, it isn't. There is no "Protestant Church." We are not a combined entity beholden to each other. Each denomination might be considered a unique "church body," but even in some of those cases it wouldn't work the way you're thinking of it.

A place set aside specifically for visiting muslim scholars...

For specifically muslim scholars to pray...
quote:
Access is limited to those scholars actively using the library for academic purposes
Limited specifically to those muslim scholars in which to study and pray..
Is most DEFINITELY a "Muslim Prayer Room" as claimed in the OP.
