How many of my fellow X'ers grew up with the strange fusion of hippie-like parents telling you to "question the man" and hardcore U.S.A. grandparents?

I bounced from Glenn Miller and Frank Sinatra to Joan Baez and Bob Dylan in the span of 3 days for multiple weeks a year.

Talk about exposure to wide range of culture spectrum. That was me.

1966, Class of 85. We were pissed off that we were too young to vote for Reagan. Also missed the 19 to 21 legal age grandfather by 2 months. Half the guys in my graduating class could drink and I could not. (Legally)

Guess it depends on what state you were in. 1977, turned 18 in June, Louisiana increase to 21 happened in August. I had less than 60 days of legal drinking.

X was the last generation of bullying. I got in trouble in middle school for calling Katherine Kevin after she cut her hair short.

As a spokesman for Gen X, we just want music videos on MTV and to be left the hell alone.

You Gen-Xers just make sure to keep working so that I keep getting my $4k a month in Social Security.

That's my gun money. I just bought another SIG MCX and P320 Legion with the money y'all sent me today.

Next month I'm saving to combine it with January's check ... for a Barrett MRAD in 300 PRC or 6 ARC.

Y'all pay for a lot of ammo too. I mean us old retired guys gotta train.

#GodBless you Gen-Xers. Keep doing your part. I mean, when my wife retires, or gets tired of working ... y'all will pay for my Medicare as well, to help keep me alive for a couple more decades, hopefully. :::: fingers crossed, praise the Lord ::::

I've had no need to draw dividends out of my investments. Wife knocks down big change (ten years younger than me) with a Fortune 500 company and we have no bills except utilities and dining out. So she refers to the Social Security checks y'all send me every month as my "play money."

Again, thank y'all very very much. Y'all are the best, and I mean that. I'm y'all's biggest fan. Y'all should see the $15k golf cart y'all bought me this time last year. One of my favorite all time Christmas gifts ever! It has blinkers and blue tooth and a touch screen and a backup camera ... it's the whoop on the golf course at my club!

And this year we're getting another raise!

To all of you meanie Gen-Xers ... I love y'all. Thank you so much.

It's our turn now sissies, so prepare for sore backs, hurt feelings and a well deserved sense of accomplishment for doing what must be done.

We sat quietly, not wanting to rock the boat, watching Millennials soy the country up with their Starbucks and preferred pronouns. We finally had enough and took charge. Prepare for a reality check. No one gives a frick about your feelings or how you "identify". Keep your personal business, personal. And earn your keep like everyone else. Do that, and we're on our way back towards a bright future.

If this doesn't suit you, there's the fricking door and I'll buy your plane ticket.

ETA: And yes, in case my mannerisms and attitude didn't give it away, I am proudly representing late-GenX, born in the year of our Lord 1978. The kids are all late millennials and early GenZ and they're all on the Right side of the political spectrum to some extent, not because we raised them to be conservative, but because we raised them correctly.

It's our time to shine and if we don't fix this broken shite, no one will be able to. We were born for this.

I still get pissed off when the EDITED version of Dire Strait’s “Money for Nothing” gets played on radio.

Oh, boo hoo. Katherine grew up to have thick skin and not depend on other people for her self esteem. Know how I know? I also got the Princess Diana pixie cut in elementary school and it was a huge mistake to cut off my hair. Was teased to hell about it for years until it grew back. Gen X women also grew up to not GAF what you think and we are better off for it.
