The US not having enough munitions is a lie

President Donald Trump has denied reports that the US is suffering a munitions shortage and vowed in a social media post to seek "long term jail sentences" for those suspected of leaking information.
"The U.S. has massive amounts of 'munitions,' especially of certain types," Trump posted on Thursday morning. "Additionally, large amounts are being manufactured and shipped to the US as needed."

"The 'leakers' of these treasonous statements are being hunted down," Trump said in the post on Truth Social. "Long term jail sentences will be sought!"

Does this mean being manufactured and shipped to the military? Or does it mean manufactured elsewhere and being shipped to the US?

I'm sure we offshore some of these things.

Why would you get jail time for leaking fake information unless it's a mole hunt?

Because it is damaging to the US negotiating position.

Aiding and abetting the enemy comes to mind.

Munitions or lack thereof is a narrative that distracts from the conversation that should be taking place.

They aren't going to find the leakers because they likely don't exist. Of if they do exist, they're not actually in a position to know what they claim to know.
I am.
They are wrong. But lets not get confused by them calling this 'leaks'. This is a coordinated disinformation campaign run by CIA through NGO's, Media, and the Democrats.

The truth is somewhere in the middle... He said in his Oval office presser they are low on some munitions and plentiful on others... some are more precise and others arent.
The Trump babbling as usual was telling that something is up.

This part is concerning. Is there anything we haven’t outsourced?

We just sold like 3500 ERAM long range precision strike missiles to Ukraine. They're very effective 500lb air-to-ground guided missiles with a range of 300 miles.
It would stand to reason that since we're able to let go of over 3000 missiles we're currently using, we have a shite ton laying around.
We don't have a lot of PRiSMs because they're practically brand new and we only had about 80 before the non-war against Iran started. And we don't have a lot of PAC-3 Patriot interceptors because (before now) we could only produce 625 a year and basically all of our allies - and Ukraine - have been sold a ton, and used thousands in Ukraine's case. Our allies and bases in the Middle East have also been using them to protect infrastructure being fired upon by Iran.
We still have plenty of stocks of the other versions, PAC2 and PAC6. We're also ramping up production on the PAC-3s to nearly triple our output at home, and Ukraine is about to start cranking them out within the next year most likely surpassing our production. Ukraine is also working on their own interceptor comparable to PAC-3 that will be given to us first and foremost when completed within the next few months.
I believe the shortage story, but not for "the sky-is-falling and everyone in Trump's cabinet is incompetent" reasons the MSM is trying to lie about. Common sense would tell you that we absolutely are running short on the two things mentioned above, which are the two all the articles are mentioning and trying to play into this doomsday scenario. In all reality, we have overstocked shelves and depots full of tens of thousands of other versions of these weapons - that may not be the latest technology like the PRiSM or PAC-3s, but are still extremely effective and best in the world.

We have the BEST munitions supply in the world, believe me. Everybody says so.
Posted on 8/6/26 at 4:49 pm to theballguy
anyone with any brains at all knows the war industry is glad to refresh the supplies. that's how they make money. pretend there is an issue. use munitions. resupply munitions. rinse and repeat.

Are you being facetious? Because we absolutely do

One of the long range precision missile systems that they were talking about being in very short supply was a ground to ground based system. I was unaware of any army units that were actively engaged in strikes against Iran. I thought all of the strikes carried out were using aircraft, or Navy based munitions systems. Not Army. Is the Army striking Iran from Jordan, Qatar, or UAE?

Of course it was a damn lie.

Those are for the future, they will be delivered in October. It was developed for Ukraine. US is buying a similar missile the LACM, and it hasn't been delivered
