I always find it odd that everyone becomes a deficit hawk when something good is proposed.

We need to have as much of the supply chain here in the US as possible. And it IS possible. Anyone saying its not possible suffers from a severe lack of imagination.

You’re going to need more than slight wiggle room. A quick look shows the price of steel up almost 35% over 6 months ago, that’s great for American steel producers but is going to cause major problems downstream as it continues

Give me strong domestic steel production even if it comes at a cost.

How about coffee, though? Can domestic coffee production answer the bell? Our bloated federal workforce drinks a.lot of coffee.

To me "Made in America" means you have a brick and mortar manufacturing facility within the boundaries of the USA. Not "Assembled in the USA" but manufactured here

They can bring a coil of steel in from China and do nothing more than put a coating on it or run it through rolls for something like metal roofing and slap a made in USA sticker on it.

The US government buys at least 95% of it's procured steel from US manufacturers already.

Will going to 100% ruin the country?

Prices will rise for everyone, not just govt. Its the tradeoff.

Just depends on whether you think its worth the jobs created or not.

How much will the price rise, Roger? Relative to the current rate of domestic purchasing, which I can only assume you already know and have factored into your deeply researched opinion.

I have no idea, not sure why youre asking me this question as I didnt disagree with the policy.

You apparently learned nothing from your time out and are still just talking nonsense with zero knowledge or data about the topic.

So you also don't know if the hypothetical price increase is worth the hypothetical and presumably unknown jobs increase from this right?

Your mind is supposed to strengthen as your body weakens you degenerate loser.

What US manufacturers are doing is buying foreign steel and bending it and coating it and as long as 10% of the process is done here its considered US MADE before its sold to Toyota,Ford, or the US government.

Hell Canada was shipping Chinese steel straight into the US under nafta and doing nothing more than slapping a maple leaf sticker on it.

In this thread I have..

1) Said its not a bad policy...

2) Said prices would increase...

And your feminine energy goes all nuts. I dont get you poeple, y'all are as emotional and basic as progressives.

The US Doesnt have the capacity for ALL of its purchases to be US made. Even your American made vehicles have lots of foreign components, and lets not even start with electronics.

So, its not a bad policy but its also not doable because of supply shocks that would come from it. What they;ll do is make it US preference and over time increase US purchases as product becomes available

This is basic economics, which you would know if you had attended beyond junior college.

I agree a Policy isnt bad, estogen fueled simp still melts down. MAGA

This doesn’t satisfy the Buy American Act which is what procurement is based on, the material has to be melted and manufactured domestically

Evidently, there are some rubes posting who think so.

I guess they didnt learn about supply shocks or bottlenecks in 2021.

The fact that we have people of such low intelligence, IQ, education, and general mental acuity as you acting so absolutely confident in his infantile opinions makes me realize our dumbest are such a fricking anchor on humanity, I don't think longevity is the answer.

If you could read, you wouldnt have melted down in this thread.

Everytime you post it reinforces that youre simply an emotional dweeb triggered by thoughts that dont relate to reality.

God bless you, you need it.

Go read about supply shocks and educate yourself, then come back and talk.
