This should cause quite a fuhrer.

It's insane that they would even consider it ...
however, very few of these tech companies are British, or even European, so they will probably tell them to frick off.

And people wondered why European nations have been trying to outright ban things like GrapheneOS, Lineage, Sailfish, etc.....

Amazing that 1984 was written by a British author

Taking advantage of the immigrant crisis to push this through

UK is devolving into a police state.

Absolutely amazing this is the response to a citizen of Ireland nearly getting his head cut off.
That's Northern Ireland, baw. They're still beholden to the crown and the tyrannical government of the UK.

The UK is 15 to 20 years ahead of American Democratic Socialist Party. But that time line may be shrinking faster than we all think.
Especially considering that we have two parties here that are both gleefully shredding the last semblance of privacy we have.

The funny thing is, they will probably avoid doing anything to the immigrants with underage girls on their phone or group chats about rape/grooming gangs.

They absolutely will allow that to happen and then cover it up again.
All of this is to continue to cover for the crimes of their foot soldiers while they terrorize the citizens they are betraying. It is so easy to see through this.
Progressives are pure evil.

things like this convince me more that Covid was a dry run for how far we would let them go.

This is why the Democrats want to get rid of that pesky US Constitution.
UK’s Parliament is the final say in making laws, zero checks and balances.

If you think you have any privacy in the United States you're naive. This already occurs here and there was no revolution.

This is a tough one. The UK became a surveillance state mainly because Muslims kept blowing up subways and double decker busses. They can't make the Muslims leave, so what else are they supposed to do?
Unintended consequences.

Hitler won after all. The UK is a facist country of Jew hating misanthropes. No freedom of speech, no guns, socialized and they have lost their navy.
All those brave souls lost in WW2 on the beaches, at sea and in the air, for nothing.

The US federal government's intelligence agencies ave been collecting metadata from cellphones and other devices on the Internet since the early 2000's and storing it around the US in various locations with Utah having one of the biggest metadata storage facility. I listened to a dude a few weeks ago on a podcast who said US intel agencies are using AI to manage and retrieve all the metadata the federal government has under its control. The intelligence agencies in the US know just about everything you can imagine about you and quite a bit of stuff you have forgotten about.
