But I don't think I've ever awarded a DV in an instance where my viewpoint in the thread was not obvious and almost always in an instance where my direct response was indicative.

These weren't enemy combatants and the two entities weren't at war.

Please don't act as though you would be on a higher moral pane in similar circumstances. Brutality is not limited to one religious group or ethnicity. I find the line you say you won't cross is a line you've already crossed when you thought no one was looking.
