This is one of those common instances where the Left acts like they do not know anything at all.
Pretti (or whatever his name is) was armed while obstructin federal agents. he then assaulted a federal agent - committing a felony when he got between the agent and the other protestor. He then committed another felony, while armed, when he resisted arrest. 3 felonies, while armed - that is why he is dead. And, I think that was Bessent's point even if it was inarticulately said.

I am an adamant believer in the 2nd amendment.
If you are carrying a firearm and advancing toward conflict, you are absolutely placing yourself in danger and you are completely missing the whole point of carrying a firearm.
ETA: unless of course someone else is in danger. So the question is was he prepared to use lethal force against federal officers to protect an illegal alien? Another protester?
Pussi clearly had alternative motives for having a firearm on him.

2A falls in the same category as 1 A....you have the right to both.
But if you do a bunch of stupid shite while carrying a weapon, that is not like some protective shield. Of course Newscum is going to frame it like this.
Just like Tim Walz referred to it as: A guy walked out of a donut shop and got shot in the face.
They both give some little kid version of events....skipping over the stupidity of injecting yourself into ICE operations and rolling around on the ground struggling with ICE while armed.

Exactly. 99 out of 100 interactions like this will end up with you being dead. Anything that has a 99% mortality rate is NOT a right.
To be fair you do have a right to be a dumbass... them consequences tho!

You're too fricking stupid to be in this conversation. The penalty in MN for not having your ID is a $25 fine...which you get back when you show up and produce your ID and your permit. In other words, a similar penalty as if you get pulled over and left your driver's license at home.

That's because you obviously have all the brain cells of a dog turd. Or you're just fricking dishonest.

Trump has never backed the 2nd amendment.
Everybody should have known that by now. He's been very consistent on it for over 10 years.

So he had no ID nor the CC permit on his person that violates CC Law in MN.
And what's the penalty in MN for this? I know. Do you?
I'll give you a clue...it's far less than driving to the grocery store without your license.
"Subd. 1b.Display of permit; penalty. (a) The holder of a permit to carry must have the permit card and a driver's license, state identification card, or other government-issued photo identification in immediate possession at all times when carrying a pistol and must display the permit card and identification document upon lawful demand by a peace officer, as defined in section 626.84, subdivision 1. A violation of this paragraph is a petty misdemeanor. The fine for a first offense must not exceed $25. Notwithstanding section 609.531, a firearm carried in violation of this paragraph is not subject to forfeiture."
"Common Violation Fine Amounts
Fine amounts subject to change without notice. Please note, each fine amount noted includes a mandatory state-imposed surcharge of $75.00 that is imposed pursuant to Minnesota Statute 357.021, Subd. 6.
Drive w/o valid license $185.00 171.02, subd 1"

It was stupid to carry at a protest. It was not a crime in Minny as far as I know. It definitely didn’t warrant a death sentence.
Correct, multiple aggressive, criminal interactions with a federal agent warranted the death sentence

Pretti had the right to carry a weapon, but not the common sense to know right from wrong.
Like Rex Kramer, Danger Seeker in 1977's Kentucky Fried Movie. Not very wise. (turn volume lower due to language)

As I said , he was illegally carrying.
And you don’t sound totally unhinged at all.

Why are guns with extended mags and a backup mag needed to attend a peaceful protest?
Why are you wanting to infringe on people’s 2nd amendment rights? No one needs to answer to you for why they stay armed, it is a right our forefathers gave us. Period.

It is a crime to carry without a license in MN. Additionally, he had no ID.
Why would a responsible citizen and protester do that?
