It has no bearing on anything anywhere else

Houston gets a fair amount of NYC finance guys. Could be a boon for Htown, assuming the smart ones leave the city.

Never underestimate the stupidity of progressives.
Chicago ran off Lori Lightfoot, but then let Brandon Johnson get elected.

I'm confused. I thought it was rank choice if any candidate fails to receive 50% (which Mamdani has not yet).
NVM... I see the concession by Cuomo. Jeezus. If I were a Jew in NYC I'd be looking to put my house on the market and move elsewhere.

Isn't the current mayor running as an independent?
If Adams runs as thrid party, he could peel away some support form the Den candidste, possibly opening the door for the republican to win, but that's probably a long shot.
The Manhattanites will probably vote Adams. The Staten Island folks will vote Republican, and the Bronx and Queens and much of Brooklyn will probably vote for the commie.

IMO Cuomo won't run in the general bc A) he has no shot and B) it would guarantee the Marxist wins instead of giving the Republican a punchers chance

Too bad that Andrew Giuliani didn't run. Curtis Sliwa would do the right thing, but he's a weak candidate for the GOP.

Many of those in finance live outside the city and take train in.
Many also already have a condo or something in Florida. (If you don’t care about school district and can work remote enough to claim residence, why not).
So the ones without means are the ones who are residents of the city and so not surprised they vote for far left.
When police forces are charged back to DeBlasio policy or worse so that it is perceived to be unsafe and building leases run out, that could be the trigger to move the Hardscapes out.
