The culture of death and violence created this demon. Hollywood actors, producers and directors routinely turned out violence themed movies. Pulp Fiction comes to mind. Realistic video games ingrained in the minds of these troubled young men the notion that shooting people is just an extension of a video game.

I recall a couple years back the story of a young man in ER. A video game enthusiast, he was involved in a shooting incident and shot. He moaned and groaned from his wounds, surprised getting shot hurt so much. So totally absorbed in the fantasy violent video game mentality.

You created these people America. You kicked God out of your culture. The vacuum created by that action was filled with violence, sex, and drugs, AND genocide.

Repent America. Turn away from evil and embrace Jesus the Christ. Else your country will collapse in an orgy of violence, brutality, and terror.

Defend me, O God, and plead my cause
against a godless nation.
From deceitful and cunning men
rescue me, O God
- Psalm 43

Doesn’t matter his politics.
He is a psychopath.
The killings are a result of psychopathic tendencies.
They all do killings because they’re nuts, regardless of their beliefs.

Haha yeah a movie from the 90’s is then cause of this. Funny how these video games all played by millions all over the world and not just the US but yeah it’s the video games and movies.

Movies, video games, and God is the laziest argument.

He had antifa neck tats, antifa flags on his fb, was a rapper and he shot up a rich white neighborhood. Not saying the friend is a liar, but the kid did seem to have some clear leanings.

Yeah, he was definitely a left winger. Those tweets are just camouflage. Just another left wing Antifa freak doing what they do

The friends seems to be a leftist so don’t believe he’s completely without bias in his assessment. The language he uses to describe both political sides is a huge clue.

quote:

He’s not Antifa of some mage overlord

quote:

He was never a white nationalist. He was never a leftist

quote:

To say he was an Antifa shooter or qanon supporter

quote:

I know leftist Twitter and trump stan Twitter

Seems pretty clear that the author likes negative terms associated with the right but sticks to text book terms for the left.

Wonder if these two can be called to testify at the J6 hearings. I bet they can tell some tales.

No one who knows anything thinks video games “caused” this.

Do you think that it’s possible for some people (a certain subset of the population) to be desensitized to violence by video games? Edited to add: all media included.

Can that desensitization play a role in them acting out violently?

Violent video games has been shown to raise levels of aggression according to APA. Hell my sweet little girls go into rage mode when playing Fortnight sometimes but its not any different then grown men getting overly excited at watching a football game imo. As far as desensitizing I think thats highly dependent on the individual.

My parents did not limit my exposure to violent media. My generation grew up watching Schwarzenegger and Stallone and playing Mortal Kombat and I still get sick to my stomach when I see real life violence. Mentally ill folks with a proclivity towards violent acting out can be influenced by any media...music, games, movies, books.

Same. No problem watching the bloodiest of horror movies... but I faint if I see any gruesome shite irl. Friend had their appendix taken out, nurse came in to change the bandaging or padding or wtfever, friend told me to stay, I stayed. Soon as that bandage was removed, I fainted so damn fast.
