I've been asked for links a couple of times. I posted one on page 2.
The guy that everyone thought was a shoe in for the job was a guy named David O'Conner. He had the problem of being a white male so he was passed over for a lady that was a desk jockey in a "touchy-freely" appointment. Her previous position before being elevated was an assistant director slot that mainly involved handling the SS budget.
If you need more proof that this was another incompetent person placed in a job over their head due to politics, I guess you can turn on the news or something.

Gender isn't the issue here. Competence to do the job is the issue here.
Having said that, if Obama allowed (or used) the prostitution scandal to appoint a woman who wasn't qualified, then that's on Obama.
She doesn't appear to be very well-qualified for the job.

This is not unique to Dems. This is why people support and donate handsomly to campaigns. they get appointment jobs for 4-8 years, then go on to cushy private sector jobs becuase they secured nice contracts that made people rich.
