Here, I'll match your logical fallacy with mine:
I can also point to civilizations in history that have committed acts of genocide, wars, torture, etc. They thought it was moral and just when they did it. Doesn't mean we go back and do that to because of history.
When this nation was founded, most of the world was ruled by monarchs. Should we have kept it that way or should we treat people like adults and let them live their lives so long as they leave everyone else alone?

Marriage is a union between one man and one woman ordained by God.
THe church should be the only place to perform "Marriages"
If two dudes or two girls want to get together and play house and have each other on their insurance and stuff then get a civil union in a government court house ordained by the government.
But we all know this was never about gays having recognized unions or marriages. Its about bending the knee to the alter of liberalism. It's about destroying the family unit and its relationship to the church. It's about forcing a group of people to accept and celebrate something they see as sin and detestable in God eye.

I am pretty sure divorce has been the biggest cause for the destruction of family unit in this country and which Jesus has a lot to say about divorce. I am sure you have tons of posts railing against how those that get divorced are destroying this country and sinning in the eyes of God.

I had zero problems with Maryland (I think it was Maryland) passing gay marriage via the legislature. Their state, their moral norms, law passed how laws are supposed to be passed. California put it to a referendum, they didn't want to change the definition, that's ok (or at least should have been) for them as well.
The way it happened via judicial fiat was incredibly damaging. Made a joke of the court, just like Roe. And a whole lot of "small government" conservatives love it because they loved the outcome, and I'll never understand that.
