The problem with the GOP are the donors.

The main problem is the donors that provide the big dollars want policy initiatives that are against most of the GOP members. Those policies include immigration and trade. MAGA wants to curtail immigration to drive up wages and reciprocal trade agreements to preserve American manufacturing businesses.

If I had to guess the ratio is probably something like this: 20% of the donors provide 80% of the money. Likewise 80% of the members provide 80% of the votes and 20% of the donations.

I don't believe these two factions can be reconciled. The 20% big donors align with the Democrats more than they do the rest of the GOP. They must be kicked out and their donations need to be replaced by domestic businesses with a commitment to the U.S. first.

Not all. There are a good number of politicians that enthusiastically carry the MAGA mantle.

There is a complete fissure between the voters of the Republican Party and its establishment, leadership, and donors.

There will be a fundamental transformation of the Party or it will die.

Yes, political contributions should be limited to $25 per politician per year - per US Citizen. No foreign donations allowed. PACs should be illegal and incapable of running ads.

In-kind advertisement the kind Twitter gave Biden would be outlawed. Censoring news stories would be considered an in-kind donation and be subject to billions in fines per incident.

Lots of things we COULD do, but DC will NEVER VOTE FOR IT.

Either Constitutional amendment or secession will take care of this.

The Democrats and the Republicans are both driven by big business. The Democrats are the party of the information economy, and the Republicans are driven by traditional businesses, like the auto manufacturers and big oil.

PACs and the rise of oligarchical United Big Tech firms are the worst thing to happen to America in recent memory.

Sorry, the Govt should be telling who and how much I should be contributing to the candidate of my choice.

Thats why Republicans were for the Citizens United SCOTUS decision.

Yup, crony capitalism.

But, most GOP voters also don't want campaign finance reform, which is the only way you fix this issue.

Trump has wealthy donors; but yeah the citibanks will go to the GOPe. Screw them.

Sundance had an article up that Donahue is retiring. I wonder what GOPer will replace him?

I will miss Lou Dobb's he plugged Sundance; and unlike Sensei does not grovel to the Graham's.

Mostly the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The biggest GOP donor in DC.

It doesn't matter. Donahue's position is plug and play. The new president of the U.S. Chamber will have the same owners at the old president.
