The Pope denies the bodily resurrection of Christ, but Joe Biden can't take communion?

A little hypocritical, no?

quote:

In his new book and in the periodical he founded, La Repubblica, Eugenio Scalfari, a long-time friend of Pope Francis and frequent papal interviewer, claims that the Pope told him that Jesus Christ did not rise bodily from the dead but "in the semblance of a spirit."

This notion is a contradiction of Church teaching and the Gospels.

In the Catechism of the Catholic Church, section 645, it states, " By means of touch and the sharing of a meal, the risen Jesus establishes direct contact with his disciples. He invites them in this way to recognize that he is not a ghost and above all to verify that the risen body in which he appears to them is the same body that had been tortured and crucified, for it still bears the traces of his Passion."

So why did Christ let Thomas (I think) put his finger in his wound?

Isn't transubstantiation a cornerstone of church teachings? I'm no Catholic but this seems as heretical as all get out.

This is what happens when you turn your church over to a Jesuit

Well, that would make the Pope wrong then. Sort of blows that "infallible" nonsense out of the water, does it not?

That simply means the Pope doesn't believe the Word of God. It clearly teaches that Christ is the first born from the dead. That is why he inherited the kingdom. First born. The there is the fact that Christ had Thomas touch his wound. Either way, this is just one of many idiotic things the pope and other catholics believe. Paying for forgiveness? come on, how stupid can they be.

So if there wasn't a bodily resurrection, why did the gospels record that the tomb was empty afterwards?

If you are Christian this sort of shite is heretical.

PJP II wanted to excommunicate all the South American Jesuits.....Francis is an Argentine Jesuit

JP should have done this.

This pope is a communist, so it doesn’t surprise me that he doesn’t really believe the Bible.

We had a similar discussion the last time something like this came out. And I'll say the same thing now I said then, I don't like the pope, but why should we trust anything this Scalfari guy says?

I’ll take the word of many hundreds of eyewitnesses and the apostles who saw Him, alive, after the fact.

But, thanks anyway, Francis.

I believe less and less of what someone reports being told. Just ask the Pope what his stance is. If he says he doesn’t believe it, then get him out.

JPII experienced the utopia of Communism first hand which is exactly why he spoke out against it.

No. Because some atheist stating that the pope said something doesn't equal the pope speaking within the confines of the infallibility.
