The Pope denies the bodily resurrection of Christ
I passionately dislike this Communist Pope. He was a stupid choice. But I'd have to see his supposed denial of bodily resurrection, and definitive heresy, coming directly from his own lips. Had he said it, IDK how his Papacy could survive. Until we hear it 1st hand, I'd have to call BS.

That’s why I said despite this story. I get you don’t believe the man telling it the first time you responded to me.

They use to kill people for expressing these ideas.

Right, but that's also not really what's going on here.
The quoted article starts the exact same way the last thread like this did. I'll search for the old on and put them both in the same post for comparison.
ETA: The old thread on the OT was whacked, this is what I pulled from Google:
quote:
In the latest edition of La Repubblica, Pope Francis' longtime atheist friend and interviewer, Eugenio Scalfari, claims that the Pope told him that ...
Which is effectively the same first line from this article.
This isn't the pope saying something, this is someone saying the pope said something.
In the previous thread there was also a reply from the pope that basically said the guy is full of shite.

Catholics don't read the Bible anyway.

So what? The man famously does not take notes in his interviews and he's misconstrued the pope's words/statements in the past. Francis also isn't the best speaker in the world either so it's entirely possible Scalfari got what was said entirely wrong.
This is the same man who says the pope denied to him the existence of Hell and who, just last month, claimed the pope denied Christ's divinity. Do you honestly believe Francis would pour these feelings out to a journalist when he is the world's most visible Christian?

I wasn't speaking to the veracity of this shite either way. Should have put a disclaimer.

The current pope is a communist idiot.

There were a few OT baws who were resurrected by prophets.
Jesus was the first to come back for good.

That's my point. The church tells Biden he can't take communion because his stance on abortion contradicts church teaching, but they elect a pope who denies perhaps the most important and central docrine of the Christian faith?
Alternative theory:
Eugenio Scalfari has been known to misrepresent what he was told, specifically by this pope.
So it's entirely possible and far more plausible that The Pope never conveyed a message totally contradictory to his position that would call for the prompt removal from his office without a just explanation. At least to me, it is.

Wrong, Lazarus wasn’t resurrected. He was revived. Much different than Jesus Christ.

"And if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain. We are even found to be misrepresenting God, because we testified about God that he raised Christ, whom he did not raise if it is true that the dead are not raised. For if the dead are not raised, not even Christ has been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. If in Christ we have hope in this life only, we are of all people most to be pitied." -1 Corinthians 15:14-19

This is why men in their mid-90s don't make for good journalists.
I 100% call BS on this because why would Francis say this shite to a journalist and then deny it once it's published. It makes absolutely no sense at all.

They may call him a Pope but he ain't one. That dude is a plant and the Catholic church would be wise to run his arse off

The Pope couldn't be a pimple on a true Christian's rear end.
