you say that but Canada has codified it into law. How far out on the outrage limb are you weirdos gonna get before you start trying to do the same shite here? Today's etiquette is tomorrow's compelled speech

Calling a man "mister" is not using the wrong prefix.

Man = mister/sir, Woman = ma'am.

It's not hard Sammy.

I see it a bit differently.

Going out of your way to call someone ANYTHING that you know they will find offensive borders upon being an a-hole. Being intentionally offensive is troll-like behavior, at a minimum.

And you are OK with what people call Donald Trump?

He was dumb for adjourning the meeting. Should have made the council wimp walk out first.

If they were to do so to his face, absolutely not.

In political discourse, unfortunately that seems to have become the norm from all political parties in most every country on the planet.

There is no difference.

Legal or otherwise.

Sometimes one must declare to the king that the king has no clothes.

If one believes something to be true then one should be willing to say it.

Aka I have no problem with people calling me or Donald Trump whatever they want in person or online.

Perhaps.

But that makes it no less rude.

Pointing out the reality of a situation is not rude. Facts are facts.

If you take me pointing out facts as rude, well, that's on you. Not me. That's your issue to deal with, not mine.

Prefixes is easy stuff. It doesn’t really involve “going out of your way” to use them properly, but it is “going out of ones way” to use the incorrect prefix to just make the mentally ill person happy.

We are a nation that has historically valued rude truth.

We have a freedom of speech for a reason.
It is not the freedom to say popular things that everyone agrees with, but the opposite.

The abolitionist calling the slaver out.

That was rude.

The hippie calling politicians baby killer. That was rude.

That's the most powerful weapon against group think.

Europe and the rest of the world don't have that.

Treasure the ability to say the truth no matter the feelings that get hurt.

Language refers to biology. It's hard for most of us to imagine being too stupid to grasp basic facts.

and a large group of people elected that fruit cake, delusional MAN in drag to a national office. God help us all. Hopefully, he'll embarrass his constituency enough that they'll vote his dumb arse out of office in '26
