What little the Allies were holding together, was a product of the US joining well before D-Day and invading and wresting control of Italy. . .as well as decimating Germans in North Africa.
If the US never went into North Africa, Italy, the Pacific, nor Normandy
USSR would have been fighting a 2 front war against Japan and the Nazis. . .with the Nazis being able to utilize the vast resources and manufacturing capabilities of a subjugated Europe.
