I mean, I changed my registration to independent to avoid further attacks on me because of my classification. I see what’s coming, and there is precedent for this type of harassment

The delusion coming out of the kremlin is impressive. It’s like the gravity of their actions are lost on them.

Russia says China refuses to supply aircraft parts after sanctions
for everyone clutching pearls about the prospects of a strong Russian/Chinese alliance moving forward… China will act in chinas best interests and no one else’s.

Turn off the gas to Europe and they would come to the table.

Short term that may work…. But let’s face it, the relationship between Russia and Europe has been fundamentally changed.
EU nations will do what is necessary so that they’re never in this position again… and that is ultimately bad for russian economy.

In Louisiana, you have to choose "No Party". "Independent" is an actual kooky party. They're running Terry Wheelock for President.

What's the process for that? Their request should be denied at this time.
At the same time though, as an American citizen I would love to have a good explanation for this as well.
America, frankly, is a bad actor at this point. We need to drop the moral superiority shtick when we are constantly caught with shite like this. We as a people are going to suffer for things like this and our interventionist policies while our politicians who should be paying the price just soak up the profits of war.

Let’s see what they have as far as evidence before we jump off a cliff.
The idea the US just left incriminating bioweapons research all around Ukraine when we’ve known for months an invasion was eminent would be surprisingly… but not wholly unbelievable.

I would like to suggest that all Russians here in America be on their toes.

Exactly… it’s well within realm of possibility.

you’re mistake (if there is one) is assuming there aren’t evil people running ALL countries.
If we are running bioweapons labs in Ukraine then by all means let’s expose that shite and hang the people responsible.

That's messed up. Russians are a great people. I hate that you get idiots out there trying to punish all Russians....

Maybe yes but maybe no. Also they might not come to the table fast enough to make a difference.
Oil and natural gas sales make up 36% of the Russian government's revenue and roughly half of that is sales to Europe. Even though Russia is heavily sanctioned and some of its banks and other financial institution are cut off from SWIFT Russia is still receiving some money from gas supplies to Europe. If Russia cuts off the gas to Europe then it stops receiving any money for gas sales to Europe because no gas is being sold to Europe.
Russia voluntarily cutting itself off from almost 20% of its revenue source might have sounded like a good idea two weeks ago when the Russian government had a 600 billion ruble budget surplus. However in the past two weeks, the past 2 weeks the Russia ruble has lost almost 50% of its value which equates to roughly 300 billion rubles of its surplus gone. That does not include the hit that Russia is going to take when it reopens its stock exchanges which will hurt Russia bigly since investors will pull out of state owned companies and Russia will either have to put money into them or let the companies go bankrupt. Either way the ruble will go down even more. Voluntarily cutting itself off from one of its few sources of foreign currency would cause the ruble to lose the rest of its value. I wonder how long those riot police would show up to work to keep protests in check when their paychecks would be worthless.
