Imagine how warped your mind has to be to think that a sovereign nation exercising its own foreign policy prerogatives based on the will of its people is “provocation”, while launching an invasion against your neighbor because you don’t like his choices is justified. US domestic politics has completely broken so many of you, and your ability to discuss foreign affairs.

It sounds rather like you are the broken one. You can’t seem to detach yourself from emotion and bias and view this conflict purely from a geopolitical viewpoint.

It doesn’t matter if Ukraine was exercising the “will of the people”(and I disagree that it was truly the will of the people), Ukraines actions did, in point-of-fact, provoke Russia to war. Or is this war all fake news, a mirage?

On the flip side yes: invading Ukraine is justified in Russia’s eyes. From his standpoint Putin attempted for years to work it out via diplomacy at the UN etc, and apparently gave up on said diplomacy. Russia is simply exercising its own foreign policy prerogatives. Well, actually there will be more diplomacy after the war, but it will be too late for thousands of innocent civilians.

The USA is run by criminals and gangsters who are good at only one thing - keeping the USA domestically unstable and enriching themselves with wealth so extensive that their great great grandkids will never have to work for a living.

That's what the USA is in 2022.

I don't know who thought that was a good idea to go rolling through Kyiv like that but I bet they don't do it again.

1) This map, from @BBC, shows just how precarious the situation around Kiev is. If that Russian advance moving west links up with forces around the capital, it will be endgame for Kiev and Chernihiv, and all forces encircled within.

quote:

2) In the south, Russia is close to taking full control of Ukrainian territory along the Black Sea. If Mykolaiv falls to Russian forces, the loss of Odesa is highly likely. UKR Navy scuttled its flagship in Mykolaiv's port yesterday.

quote:

3) The Russian operation is only at the beginning of the second week. An operation of this scale and scope was never going to take days to complete. Think months. The Ukrainians are putting up stiff resistance in the face of long odds, slowing down the Russians.

Should happen any day now. Really the war will be over shortly after Kiev falls. To lose your capital is demoralizing, and Ukraine seems helpless.

1) This is highly disturbing if true. From @BBC: "Linda Thomas-Greenfield said that the invaders were '20 miles, and closing, from Ukraine’s second largest nuclear facility.'" This would be the Yuzhoukrainsk nuclear facility.

quote:

2) The Yuzhoukrainsk nuclear plant is about 70 miles north of Mykolaiv, which is in the process of being surrounded by the Russians. Have the Russians dashed north or is this a false report by Linda Thomas-Greenfield? The Fog of War.
