The US is the one investing now? I thought Trump and Vance specifically said we're not sending a dime

I dont think so. Vance made it clear the loans would be coming from Iran’s neighbors.

You seriously need to just exit the conversation. You are too stupid to understand.

Correct, which makes AlterEd's attempt at a point a failure.

further regional destabilization under Obama

I don't think anyone disputes this

It has nothing to do with the current deal which should be evaluated on its own merits

Irans neighbors loan them up to $300B.

That still remains to be seen. What it says is that the US guarantees the 300bb in US dollars. And it's still under negotiation.

I hope that they're right and we don't send a dime, but even if we do, it's obvious how they will recoup their investment and I would be ok with that too.

So I'm not the smartest person, but in item 11, does the clause "Such funds, whether retained in the original account or transferred, shall be made fully usable for payment to any ultimate beneficiary designated by the Central Bank of the Islamic Republic of Iran" mean that they can transfer money to Hezbollah, Hamas, etc.whenever and however much they want?

From the MOU, "The mechanism for the implementation of this plan will be finalized as part of a final deal within 60 days."

In 60 days, this issue will be off everyone's radar...so, I am pretty sure we will be paying, regardless of what Vance has been sent out to "say".

Vance was pretty adamant about that. I don’t want the US making these loans. Let the ones that benefit the most from a non-nuclear Iran give the loans.

Whether it does or not, we know a chunk will end up there.

Congrats on the Iran win, I guess. You're obviously very happy with the outcome.

Lesson learned: listen to SFP. I'm almost always right.

This war was retarded and we fought to a stalemate at best and Iran and China are much stronger today than January 2026

The US will want to recoup it's investment for this and the obvious way this will be done is for them to trade their oil on our dollar.

So you see this as a surreptitious means to solidify the petro dollar?

If thats the case where is the implicit requirement for oil sales to be in USD or what mechanism do we have for forcing that if its not directly stated within the terms of the agreement?

He's at step 2, maybe 3. Before I left for the jail he was at step 1 denying what was reported was real.

I don't want it happening either, but if it does end up happening this way, I have to laugh at how this all played out. This all began back in the 1950s when Iran nationalized its oil production and basically turned coat on their legal contracts with Great Britain. 70 years later and Britain is out of the loop and the oil is being traded on the USD.

Again, I hope Vance is right and we don't send a dime, but even if we do I think the US ends up coming out ahead on the deal.
