The New Silk Road documentary from China to Pakistan (really good documentary by DW)

This is a really good documentary which shows China is aggressively building a huge corridor through Pakistan. The goal is direct access to the Arabian Sea and I can see China achieving this goal over the next two hundred years.
DW Documentary
The New Silk Road is a mammoth project intended to connect China with the West. It's a gigantic infrastructure project that Beijing says will benefit everyone. But this two-part documentary shows China’s predominant self-interest and geopolitical ambitions.
The old Silk Road is a legend, whereas the New Silk Road is a real megaproject. China wants to reconnect the world though a network of roads, railways, ports and airports between Asia and Europe. A team of reporters travels by sea and land along the New Silk Road and shows how China, with the largest investment program in history, is expanding its influence worldwide.

Can we ask them to fix the Mississippi River Bridge in Baton Rouge and maybe build us a loop while they are at it?

Came here for some Bitcoin and drug/prostitute shitposting lol
For real though China is going to bury us with how our youth think foreign policy should work and what American priorities should be. Hopefully there's some awakening that occurs. They're influence in Africa and the Middle East is getting frightening with how powerful the CCP is getting.

I’m just amazed how stupid some foreign leaders are. China walks in and offers high interest loans for the infrastructure projects. Said country completes project but can’t pay off debt. China negotiates debt forgiveness for control is the newly built infrastructure.
They say this is about trade but this is about Military forwarding.

China is in so much debt themselves they’d give a democrat pause.
All this is super scary until you realize China is teetering in the brink of a lost 30-40 years, similar to japan in the 90s.
They have too much debt, are too dependent on exports, have a demographic nightmare, and have little in the way of global economic clout in any developed economy.

Unfortunately I think history has shown that when the “awakening”occurs, it usually means war.

Kind of reminds me of govt leaders in most major US cities agreeing with the union for pension plans that the tax base cant ever afford to pay, in return they get the votes (plus a boatload of kickbacks, elijah you out there), and the next guy has to worry about the pension payout a decade down the road.
Bribery is inbred in the asian culture, and we know the african countries are renowned for their ethics. What could go wrong.

True, true and true. And the raw materials to build all these mega structures must be paid for.....in US cash.
You will note chini capital investment, sans belt and road, has dried up. In fact many of the companies are selling off assets abroad in the chinese govt effort to bring that foreign exchange back home.
Now that Trump has exposed this farce of a thiefing country for what it is, you are right, they will have lost decades, I just hope it ends without violence.

We worry about Russia. This is much more concerning than any thing Putin and Russia is accused of even in the imagination.
The Chinese have been flirting with idea of making the IO a Chinese Lake since time of Marco Polo, defintely since the late 1300's with the voyages of Zheng He
