I'd say OJ and Bill Clinton/Monica Lewisky "scandal" is when the "news" changed.

Now come on, be honest- even I can admit, Hannity was the mouthpiece of every Obama conspiracy for 8+ years.

He, like all these 24 he cable news channels, feed off of scandal and salaciousness.

Limbaugh is on a different level. Dude has the goods.
Beck get a bit too preachy sometimes, but is great on Constitutional issues.
Levin has an annoying voice and is a bad host(doesn't listen to callers) but knows the foundation of this nation and the Constitution better than anybody.

Milo is good, but can he do a 3 hour show?
Never heard Gavin or Shapiro

IOW, we agree Hannity should GTFO.

Give me an example? I'm not saying he didn't have an agenda, but to blatantly make up news from anonymous sources and never retract them when they are false?

I think the majority of the hit on Hannity is simply because he's not left wing and is unapologetically conservative. I'm not a Hannity fanboy as i find on his radio show, he's not prepared all the time, and if someone says something he can't debate, he quickly changes the story.

But i haven't seen him completely manufacture news the way the left has been doing.

For every Sean Hannity there's at least 10 liberal commentators just like him

Off of the top of my head:

Obama is a Muslim

Obama wasn't born in the USA

-it's not just the reporting of these stories and those about trump, it's the fact that the media does these stories to generate ratings- nothing more.

Who Owns The Media?

In past decades, media has been parceled off and is now controlled by a few companies known as "the Big Six". So what companies control the media?

Very few people control the almost all the news.

Yep. One of the darker side of market driven news. People want to be shocked and outraged. Disgusting.

Vietnam, Watergate (Woodward and Bernstein) and the integration of women into the media marketplace (necessitating human-interest stories).

How about instead of the established dudes "just go away" the younger ones instead step up and take the reins away? Oh wait, they can't, not yet anyway.

The old dudes haven't just walked in a said "gimme". They earned their audiences, their time slots, their ratings. Hard work it really does payoff, just not overnight.

Now, Git off'n mah lawn!

i'm confused... are you saying the younger is NOT trying to go their own path and earn their audiences?

I've only heard 1 younger guy so far on Talk Radio (which is where these entertainers are) out of Dallas. He has a LONG way to go get beyond where he is. My exposure to other markets that might have a young person in the works is limited though admittedly.

Milo is not a radio guy. Most of the younger ones showing any "political commentary industry" interest, apparently, are pushing other media types (Youtube, podcasting, etc.). The "established" route though is radio. A VERY tough road to travel with low pay, poor benefits, and a usually very slow trajectory. Instant gratification society of today only makes it even harder. I truly hope some of them DO make it.

Long gone are the days of Kronkite, Brokaw etc. wherein they just read of a prompter or script,

They still read from promoters on the nightly and local news. Which Brokaw and Kronkite were apart of.

Trumps tweets are real news. Everything else is fake and just for entertainment.

I would rather here it from his tweets then get the media news so called experts on what he meant by his tweet. I don't have to agree with the tweet but damn at least I know what HE said.

Has the OP ever watched the local news? They create stories, investigative stories, all the time for filler. Outside of a war or the OJ chase, yes, the news is boring and for old crochety white men.
