I don't think Bubba did or had any knowledge of this, but I can def see it being an 'inside job' though. See the last link below about all the sponsorship interest popping up after the BLM stance. I could imagine them getting alot of interest, but as soon as people find out the dollar figures it costs to sponsor a NASCAR, they get cold feet.
What better way to seal the deal on a potential sponsor than something as definitive as this incident, and driving the message home to those potential new backers?

no. Some idiot hung nooses in a tree and when someone called him on it he declared it to be "for exercise "...except a noose would close up if pulled by the loop.

Richard Petty is basically just the name of the team now. He hasn't owned the team in years, A guy named Andrew Murstein is the principal owner, and he made his money selling advertising on top of Taxis in New York. So no shady past or above doing something like this at all. (Eye roll)

They have to drag it out long enough for it to spread all over social media how NASCAR is racists, whites are racist, blacks are victims and when it turns out it was a member of his team or a big nothing burger they will drop the story but the narrative was already set.

They know who did it...I think the media is telling them to hold on so they can get the blood out of the turnip...Just looking at facebook the story must be on there a dozen times from different snake oil sites..
