I know a lot of people who agree with many libertarian ideas. I’ve never met an actual member of the Libertarian Party.

Another Chase Oliver type of degenerate...and I'm a libertarian. Ancap to be more precise.
Had a shot at credibility when the Mises Caucus was growing fast w/in that party, but man does that party choose some absolute stinkers. fricking embarrassing.

I think two things did in whatever momentum they thought they had going into 2016:
- Potential libertarians can drive to their downtown area and see the effects of social libertarianism. Or even in the suburbs now.
-Gary Johnson and his party flew too close to the sun. Between the naked guy and Johnson basically admitting he didn’t follow foreign affairs it was never more clear this is a clown party.

This is down the same far-leftist path that gave them their last presidential candidate. Who was not distinguishable from anyone the far left of the democrat party might put up.
So yes, i agree the libertarian party may be safely disregarded if someone like this new guy is in charge.
