They hope that thousands of CFB fans in Michigan, Ohio, Florida, etc. will blame Trump and his COVID response for the loss of their favorite pastime/hobby. Once the announcement comes down this week, look for the narrative to be “if only Trump has responded better, we’d still have football”.

This decision is by all accounts being driven by university presidents and academics, not health officials or athletic departments or players.

And if the “leadership” of football weren’t cowards we would have football.

But I agree with your assertion.

It's coming

Liberal progressive presidents and admins. This was all planned and coordinated.

Literally nothing has changed in a month in big ten states when they switched to conference only schedules. This decision out of the blue is purely political.

This will be perceived exactly the opposite of how they would like. No one is confused by who is pushing for things to be closed or shut down.

It is going to have exactly the opposite effect. Not many fans of college football outside of Austin are going to be blaming Trump for this clusterfrick.

University presidents stand to collectively lose billions of dollars of revenue if the season is canceled. They aren’t giving that up over spite.

Yes, the left likely wants football canceled to use against trump. No, that’s not a significant part of the calculus coming from the college football decision makers. If you can’t see that, you’ve got your own version of derangement syndrome that you should consider dealing with.

how these players safer not playing football.. If they go home or join the student body no doubt it will be easier fot them to covid. When players will be in a bubble taking online classes. this makes no sense at all...

Wrong! Presidential salaries will still be paid. They do not care about the universities, for if they did, marxism would not be the prevailing orthodoxy.

I'd still have my season tix that I'd had since 2001 if the only reason the season was going to be cancelled was for this virus.

I asked for a full refund and informed LSU that I would not be renewing next year (or ever) because of their actions involving BLM.

You don’t think they’ll burn their own house down to spite Trump?

And when that happens watch their endowments shrivel.

Wasn't there a case at Alabama where they hacked off a major donor who then demanded a family name taken off a building and return of an endowment?

And we're seeing this already at a Baptist school in Texas that's "going woke" only to have the family of a former school president demanding not only his name be removed from a building, but to reclaim his remains which are buried on campus, for reburial elsewhere.

They're tightening the noose but can't figure out why they're having problems breathing.

This sabotage of the football season is 100% the ChiCom Dem's shitshow.

Hard to believe they are stupid enough to think they can hang it on Trump.

Its time for football to die. Let them reap what they have sown. Time for the playas who hate our guts to get a job

Hopefully, this will make for a big boost in rodeo attendance. Throw tractor pulls in there too, and my favorite, Donkey basketball, which could also be called Honky basketball, and nobody will be offended.

I’m sure you fully understand that my claim is that universities collectively stand to loose billions of dollars. Not the presidents directly, the universities. Don’t be intentionally dumb.

And if a university looses that kind of money for no reason, the board will hold it against the university president. And like most all professionals who have risen to the absolute peak of their field, if there is one thing these presidents care about, it is the power they have because of their job. They aren’t giving that up to send a message.

Your point about the degree to which they hate trump is valid... but they love themselves more. And their willingness to go so far as to embrace Marxist orthodoxy on their campuses is proof of how far they are willing to go to solidly their own position of authority.

You don’t think taking that position is proof positive of a serious degree of mental derangement?

The university presidents will all likely fling blame at all other Power 5 presidents, claiming they voted for football but got overruled.

Anyone with any brains knows the Covid scares and BLM nonsense that has put off so many fans is only coming from one direction. The Left
