I'm not really moralizing any of this. I'm just saying its unnatural and ego-based. We can all draw our own conclusions

Hahaha. I kinda dislike the term "unnatural". I know, I know, everyone uses it. Still, I dislike it. Using it leads us to believe that humans are not natural (existing in or of nature). We are in fact natural and our actions themselves are natural.

Yet, you're quoting The Law?

As a topic of discussion.

I haven't finished reading it yet.

These concepts aren't made up. You're wrong. They're real.

Something can be made up and also real. Money is made up. It's also real. A dollar bill only has value because humans collectively agreed that it does. It has no value to dogs. Or ants. Or trees.

There are innumerable other examples just like this.

Early laws were derived directly from biblical teachings

Human societies had rules for a very long time before any part of the Bible was written or the events depicted in the Bible occurred.

This all reinforces that ownership is a social construct.

Ownership, and traits conceptualizing ownership, are present in more evolved species.

The practice of ownership requires two things: (1) evolved intelligence and (2) stationary existence. We see this in even more evolved primates. To suggest that ownership and possession are simply social constructs is incorrect.

No. Ownership and Private Property are not the root of incivility and conflict.

Envy is.

Yeah, he is quoting Rousseau. He thought private property was the cause of most strife.

Regarding ownership as a social construct, would a persons raised alone in the wilderness wake every morning and wonder if he can travel with his knife, blanket and canteen OR would he need to consider that he may not have the right to take them since they don’t belong to him.

He would take them because they would be in his possession. It is doubtful that he would clutch them after death or will them to his descendants or other animals he was fond of.

Ownership is perpetual possession, or possession beyond one's immediate need for an item.

You can’t have incivility without civilization and you don’t have civilization without private property ownership.

Because we are cursed with a higher intelligence that lets us see both the good and the bad in our actions?

The Akkadian Empire was about 1,000 years prior to when Moses is supposed to have lived

Cursed with the ability to reflect. Cursed with the knowledge that we will die someday from an early age. Cursed with all sorts of things.

That you're not a philosopher? You're correct there.
