The Chinese government's own propaganda agency couldn't write something so absurd.
Which is why they probably paid this guy.
ETA: Alright, got me. But there was only one paragraph that was satiric, and I couldn't even get that far into reading it, since it sounded like typical liberal rhetoric.

guys c'mon now
surely this tipped you off
It's not like he made it obvious, or for that matter even tipped his hand. Were it not for the fact that it was in National Review there is nothing about this that could not be featured in any blog across the internet today as a serious piece.

That is a Cooke article, so I'm going to assume satire. But holy shite, can it get confusing at times.

there can only be one reason why people who believe that COVID-19 originated in a lab in China keep saying aloud that they believe that COVID-19 originated in a lab in China, and that is to drive anti-Asian hatred on the streets of large cities in the United States
It doesn't even appear as though african americans even need a reason other than what they have been operating on the last few decades.

It's not very funny, but surely this tipped you off that it was satire:
quote:
. I remember all too well how the bullies in my kindergarten class used to taunt the AAPI kids. “Hey you,” they would say, “I’ll bet you work on gain-of-function research in an institute of virology and are reckless with your gloves!”

It gives them a reason to divert attention away from Wuhan by saying we are anti Asian b/c we believe it started in a lab in China. They could care less about anti asian sentiment. They only care about controlling the narrative and that is that the virus didn't start in a Chinese lab. It is totally ridiculous to think we hate all Asians because the virus was started by some really evil people (Soros, Fauci etc) in a lab in China.

I dont blame any Asian American at all for what started in wuhan. Blacks apparently do and are willing to let their fists do the talking.

This was beautiful. I cried a little at the end.

Even as I read it, I would have sworn it was from The Bee. Then I realized it wasn't, and that gave me the sads.

Only once that has been established beyond rejoinder will we be able to start the hard work of defeating prejudice and acknowledging who was really to blame for this devastating pandemic all along: America

Occam’s Razor dictates that there can only be one reason why people who believe that COVID-19 originated in a lab in China keep saying aloud that they believe that COVID-19 originated in a lab in China, and that is to drive anti-Asian hatred on the streets of large cities in the United States.
bullshite. Occam's Razor would point directly to the level 4 bio-lab, which is a mere mile away from the wet-market, to be the logical source of the outbreak.
This person does not understand the philosophy and is misusing it for their own idiotic narrative.

It's satire you dumbasses.
It has to be right? But, the fact we can't be sure shows where we're at with the media right now.

That his delivery is practically indistinguishable from Democrat Marxist rhetoric is his own fault.
Attempted satire on NR is earnest diatribe on Slate.

National Review? Wow. So long, NR. We hardly knew ya (obviously).
That is comically absurd. Holy shite, the National Review is under enemy occupation.

It’s imperative that we bring this debate back to the very not-racist theory that exotic eating habits are to blame.
Because there is nothing racist about posting pictures of Asians eating a wet bat in Palau while insinuating (1) the Asians must be Chinese..... and (2) that eating habits are the same, or even remotely similar in Wuhan >2000mi away.

IT'S SATIRE
It's not veiled at all, people.
