Prove your point with some type of reference.

I am inclined to agree with you but throw in some statistical reference to substantiate what your saying...

There has been an increase in mass shootings with the decline of manual stick shift cars being sold.

The divorce rate peaked in the 80s and has declined. Maybe it has to do with the increased use of the internet and social media

And while we are on the Christian thing...Mary wasn't married to Jesus dad.

So has traditional families been going down hill since then?

Agree 100%

With each passing generation parents as a whole are getting lazy as hell raising kids, and each generation is getting more entitled than the next.

Also the great irony is that we are more connected than at any point in human history but so many people are truly alone and have no friends.

We also have access to the sum of human knowledge literally in our pockets at all times but our schools are glorified baby sitting where we teach nothing and just credential people so they can go to the next step.

I bet the divorce rate is down because the marriage rate is also way down.

I wonder what the rate of kids born to unwed parents has done since the 80s?

There are two areas that need to be discussed; mental illness and the foundations of a family. First off, there is a large number of mentally ill in our country, and a small number of dangerous mentally ill people. When I say dangerously mentally ill, I am talking about people with schizophrenia, bi-polar disorder (the rapid cycling type), reactive attachment disorder, intermittent explosive disorder, people having psychotic breaks, etc. The problem is often a mental health problem, not a gun problem. The mental health treatment for adults is very poor, while the mental health treatment of children and adolescents is marginally better. The mental health issue has to be addressed in this country.

Secondly, a healthy family home teaches healthy ways to cope, deal with life, and solve problems in a healthy manner. I’m talking about a mother and father, married, that act like, walk like, and talk like parents. Yes, there are many single parent homes that result from domestic violence matters, and it is obviously a lot better for marital partners that fall in this group not to be with each other. Contrary to a lot of people’s view, Jesus Christ is one of the pillars for a healthy family. For all the atheists, agnostics, etc., it’s not the religious teachings you have a problem with, because we’re talking about teachings such as treat people like you want to be treated, don’t steal, and learning that it takes a bigger man to forgive than it does to live for hate and revenge. The problem this section of the population has is with religion itself.

Currently the rate of single parent Caucasian families is roughly 52%, and the rate of single parent African American families is roughly 82%.

why have violent crimes gone dow

I believe its one of upsides of technology, big screen tv’s , internet, video games.. younger people just go out less, the days of hanging out on street corners isn’t a thing anymore so the less the actual human interaction the less chance of confrontation, When i was in my young adult years we had 4 channels and a record player so you found yourself out looking for things to do and a lot of it wasnt always good.

That's not how this works. You have to prove yourself right.

Many mass shooters have come from two parent households. I don't think this has to do with single family homes (although they do contribute greatly to a lot of other social ills) or a lack of religion (you don't see this happening in Japan, for example).

This

The destruction of the nuclear family is the cause of much of society’s problems.

That's because drug arrests have gone up 140% since 1980 because that's where the easy money is for private prisons. Arrest rates for violent crimes have steadily decreased since the mid-1990s.

Causation does not equal correlation. That sudden spike also correlates with around the time social media became a dominant influence on day-to-day life. I'm betting the latter is more of an issue.

Prove me wrong.
It's just an absurd claim on its face. Crime has been plummeting for 25 years - presumably DURING your supposed trend of "family breakdown". Almost every marker of social dysfunction is better than it was 20-30 years ago.

Not in NY - and crime has gone down more there than almost anywhere.
