Sure it did...the legal H1-B worker is a part of the free job market as much as John Smith from central Idaho.

Dumb part is the H1-B affects the technology position the most where there is a current huge shortage in workers.

This is a lie. There are no shortage of Americans who can take those spots. These spots are offered to h1-b visa asians who are willing to work at a steep discount. Plus, the visa ties them up and they are not able to quit and move on to other positions as quickly as an American can. This is what these employers hate.

And I can tell you from experience, yes there are some sharp asians but as a whole they are no more intelligent than any American who fills the same position.

Hahaha, it’s probably what their universities told them.

You did it illegally by lying and saying the skill set wasn’t available domestically.

Yes at that point you promote the current employee and hire a new entry level

Yeah, the more common strategy that people like you have is to make the current employee's life miserable until he wants to quit and then hire another one at entry level.

This is how corporations suppress wages.

You're not in the Tech field.

It's good for American wages, and bad for big tech's profit margins.

And he lied to use it.

An entry level position where he had 3 recent college grads who were qualified, and he admitted it was based on price.

He’s just a scoundrel.

Paying an entry level .NET developer in Baton Rouge, LA north of 65K is insanity.

It could be. My point is that your perception of what is a normal salary is distorted by the availability of low salary H1B options.

Seems to me as if a free market could determine whether it was too much. Instead you have some businesses that can't otherwise compete whining to the government to get them some cheap labor.

Spot on.

Just asking you to own your own.

So Americans can’t get the job done? Of course they can....but the premium you pay them sometimes isn't worth it.

Amrican demands 150000 to do the job. H1-B worker commands 80000 to do the job. Both workers have similar credentials and experience and both interview well enough for the position.

You sit here a criticize companies for hiring H1-B applicants that are as qualified (or more qualified) and way cheaper than American applicants, but you don't offer up any solutions.

The h1b program is for highly specialized skill sets, you’re using it to hire cheap immigrant labor for generic skill sets.

You’re a fraud and a liar.

You had applicants, you just didn’t want to pay the prevailing wage...that’s not the purpose of H1B
