It's a shame so many Americans are against businesses making money but they claim to support a free market....not to mention I assume they like to make money themselves.

You mean, "I don't like the free market, I want the cheapest alternative."

I'm sorry then. You may not like my proposed solutions.

America was built by the best of the best. People came here because it was the land of opportunity and if you were the best you succeeded. Now people are like but, but, but I want that job. Then fricking be better than the LEGAL immigrant who grew up poor and will bust his arse to get the job done.

America isn't a fricking rec league baseball team where everyone gets playtime because you are on the team. It's a fricking all-star team, if you want to start, get better or grab some fricking bench.

It's funny that you claim to support the free market.

There are at least one hundred qualified applicants who are US citizens or permanent residents for every opening position from Google, Yahoo, Facebook, Amazon, Mircosoft, and Twitter.

If quality and all other factors are equal why is price not a great differentiation?

Oh noes. Some tard on an anonymous message board may think I'm unintelligent. Whatever will I do?!?

Especially one who thinks he's a conservative and for the free market while openly advocating for government manipulation of the labor market. Gee, I'm hurt.

Every country in the world pushes to have their own citizens fill jobs roles done in the country. The US has 300+ million people and a huge college education system. It can produce candidates.

I would say in general there are always qualified US citizens for jobs or a company is trying to manipulate labor cost and underpay for the skill.

American's wage demands are getting out of control....but it is normalizing in tech.

I don't fault any company for hiring highly competent H1-B workers over American citizens that demand unreasonable salaries.

Thank you for shilling for corporate America and big tech against your own god damned countrymen, the CCP thanks you for your service and would like to remind you to hire Chinese!

Case in point about 5 years ago I was hiring an entry level developer at a company in BR. I had 5-6 applicants just graduating from LSU, SU, and SLU. Their salary requirements were anywhere from 75K to 90K (insanity on the high end). My company was comfortable paying in the 60-65K range which I though was fair for a developer that has never put anything into a production environment that made money in their lives. I got 1 application from a H1-B guy that needed a sponsorship which we really didn't want to get into but I interviewed the guy anyway. He had 5 yrs experience was by far the more advanced developer than any other person I interviewed and his salary requirements were 60K-70K....we hired him and sponsored his visa.

This is a common example of a symptom of the larger problem. Your ability to sponsor that H1B allowed you to hire at an artificially low price. The only reason your company thought 60-65k was reasonable is because of the access to those people without a normal American standard of living.

Americans are being forced to compete against people with lower standards and costs of living. These immigrants are eventually going to become used to the higher quality of life that the US can provide, then they will also demand a higher salary and be replaced with a new immigrant. Where does it end?

I could agree with this 100% if we were only bringing in the best and brightest immigrants. That's not reality though.
