The GOP messaging around "Kamala being a tough prosecutor" is confusing ?

On one hand we talk about all the crime issues in the country, which is what we absolutely should be hammering home ad nauseum, since crime and maybe immigration are our top polling issues for the GOP on our side.
But then on the other hand, there is this narrative about Kamala locking up a bunch of blacks in California. I realize there is maybe more context to what she did in CA that may differ from the national crime issue. But in national general elections, that level of context gets quickly lost to the masses.
There was very similar messaging surrounding the crime bill in 1994 that Biden was involved with, which actually wasn't that bad. It was apart of Clinton's triangulation strategy to move right before the 1996 election.

Vivek pointed this out.

"Kamala is a cop" was a Democrat talking point in the 2020 primary that's more effective than anything the GOP has created to attack her up to this post's timing.
They're trying to co-opt more successful strategy in hurting her profile.
Does it make them hypocrites? For many, yes, but that's never stopped MAGA before. That's why they don't like taking positions in the first place and pretend every MAGA-based grifter who previously attacked MAGA/Trump legitimately changed his/her mind.

would brand her as a dirty cop because it’s true

Pointing out the locking up black kids forces the left to divide on the issue and makes her either defend it or punt it.

Could you provide some examples of this messaging? I've seen people talk about how she went above and beyond to keep people locked up over minor charges specifically.

She’s not a tough prosecutor.
She jailed a bunch of people for weed. That’s low hanging fruit.

I I read somewhere where she kept them past their release time In a work program. That points to corruption.

Isn’t that a democrat primary debate?

Well, in fairness, her ancestors were slaveholders in Jamaica. Just encoded in the DNA.

Locking up innocents, or extending sentences arbitrarily in order to use convict labor (slavery) is not being “tough on crime.”

Its to wedge the plantation democratic blacks away from the dnc ticket. The black vote is paramount to dnc success.

What do videos from past Democrat Party debates have to do with "GOP messaging?"

I would leave the prosecutor stuff alone. Like Vivek said, whining about how she was tough on black people makes her look like the law and order candidate.
I would show video of the country burning and play the quotes of her saying it should keep going and show she encouraged bailing out criminals.

This should only be mentioned when there is enough time to really lay it out. The message isn’t that she was tough on crime. The message is that she held minor offenders past their release date because the state used them as free labor. She also prosecuted minor weed crimes, while at the same time talking about possessing and smoking weed in college.
